And the connection between those two archives would be? It's there in the headline! Try reading "the histories of African and Caribbean people in Britain". Get it now? It's where they are from and not their skin colour.

Which is one of the problems.Just because someone produces a webpage doesn't mean their opinion is correct. Some of those with "white" skins refer to "white" culture whilst some with "black skins" refer to "black" culture. Neither is helpful, or in my opinion, correct.

So what? Doesn't mean it is right. Minds need to be changed everywhere.

Because there is NO single "black" culture any more than there is any single "white" culture. Defining a person's culture by their skin colour is degrading and totally inaccurate. It's an anathema because it's just wrong. It's frustrating because so many seem to struggle with understanding why.

Apparently you don't give instructions on this only pleas. As I informed you before I cannot instruct anyone to do anything here. No-one can. Not even the mods. They can just ban you. So if you are seeing "instructions" then you ought to change your glasses because they aren't there. I am expressing an opinion. Nothing more. It is my opinion that minds need changing. You can disagree. That's your right. If you don't like my writing style that's tough, because how I write is my right.

No one is actually black and no one is actually white. They are general terms meant to refer to ancestry and you have no right to tell anyone from anywhere how they may wish to think of themselves in terms of their culture and what words they may use to reflect it.

I am not telling anyone anything. I am expressing the view that the use of these words, by whoever uses them, is divisive and unhelpful. You, and they, are as free to disagree as I am to express that opinion. I am though glad to hear that you agree that no-body is either black or white, as that is also my view. We are all just people whose skin colour ought to be an irrelevance. Using skin colour to refer to ancestry is as wrong as any other reference. In my opinion of course. Not that really needs to be said to anyone other than a pedant. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (22 Nov 2020 9.52am)
