Mmmm...I mean no disrespect, butfor 40 million? I feel this is a very serious buy and comments such as "I'd take Sarr" don't do it justice. I mean , sure, I'd take him too. But for a potentially bankruptcy inducing cost? (Cause it's possible with a relegation, hopefully not) This would need to be analysed very seriously. It's not like paying 10 million on Kouyate and knowing you get your money's worth. I think the club was pretty shaken having paid those 30 million for Benteke some years ago. A lot of money at that time. Couldn't afford many other buys. Left us in mediocrity for a long time, unable to bring many more talents for much money. We never went high like Leicester, Wolverhampton, even Southampton, cause we couldn't afford their players anymore. We ought to be very careful with those money. Edited by mattteo (29 Sep 2020 11.32pm) Tbf, I have written a response without analysis and Mattteo has rightly challenged me. When I said “I’d take Sarr”. If you look the the funds that are potentially available with us being linked with Benrahma and Brewster. I feel the additional 10-15m would be better spent on Sarr. Sarr had a good first season. Liverpool and united both see him as back up to other targets. If we were to go down, I think we would be able to demand a fee similar to what we paid. At only 22, could be a long term replacement for wilf/townsend. Yes it is a gamble, but less of a gamble than 20m on Brewster who has only played a handful of professional games. Same with benrahma who has played in the championship, I have not been overly impressed with on the games I have seen him play. He could be another knockhart. I don’t think the club is that ‘shaken’ by benteke if I’m honest. 80% of the clubs business is on proven premier league players. Players who have been there and done it in the prem. Sarr is someone we would know what we are getting in if we paid the money. I think the club are more ‘shaken’ by players/managers with no premier league experience hence why we buy the players we do.

With Benteke possibly going for £10m and £9m for Sorloth both an added bonus this season we should be able to set our sights higher but we will not pay £40m. If Dann goes his fee will be spent on Bella Kotchap imo Edited by Spiderman (30 Sep 2020 8.04am) All gone quiet on Kotchap. Google says that he may have been offered to Inter ?

I am posting because it would seem that Palace is a possible loan destination for Reiss Nelson? Obviously a player of great potential, but seems to have gone down the pecking order at Arsenal and prone to injury. maybe a loan with option to buy. Might be a shrewd move? Or maybe not....

I certainly think Benrahma has added a couple of million to his value tonight which will push him out of our reach therefore I think our business could be done
