With regard to Dazza, not sure why his posts create so much animus. He's easy to follow and enjoy, and equally easy to ignore depending on your personal preference. But it eludes me why people get so wound up by him. Either way (enjoy him or not), he's not really worth the column inches he commands. The real problem here is people taking him far too seriously. And that's their problem; not Dazza's. It seems to me that no one is really "in the know" unless they know Steve Parrish directly. Any information that doesn't come from Steve himself (and even then, it may suit Steve's purposes to put out incorrect rumours anyway) is pretty much as speculative as something you or I make up. However, if someone knows somebody in the club who isn't Steve Parrish then they may feel they are "in the know" even though they're really not. My guess is that's the case with Dazza. My view is that Dazza posts in good faith. I suspect he probably has contacts in the club, quite possibly better contacts than most on here have, and I suspect he accurately posts what they tell him. The problem is that Dazza's like a journalist pursuing a story who believes everything his source tells him at face value. But part of being a decent journalist is validating what you're told, even when you think your source is reliable. I don't think Dazza does that. I don't think he can. Thus, he takes informed but inaccurate rumours and then amplifies them as prospective fact. For me, Dazza's posts amount to "informed scuttlebutt". They're interesting because they quite probably do represent gossip from inside the club rather than just forum speculation, but in reality they're about as likely to be true as the latter because the insiders who feed him aren't really informed themselves. They might know a little bit more than you and I, but they don't know the facts. Thus those who take Dazza's posts literally get upset when they're wrong as more often than not they will be. Meanwhile, those who understand what they really amount to enjoy the distraction he provides and don't take them as hard information, thus not being bothered when his pronouncements come to pass. With all that said, if we only discussed hard facts on this forum, there'd be far fewer posts than there are. Best to just enjoy the speculation and leave those who think they know more than the rest of us to be hoist by their own petard when a different manager to the one they assured us was incoming is hired. Bang on. I agree completely. End of the day some people relish on shooting down what others say, declaring it's not fact. Well the whole point of this forum is to discuss, come up with ideas, speculate etc. It's a range. I know people bemoan the `pointless speculation` whether that be a player or in tis case the manager. I like the pointless speculation, its interesting to hear others views and thoughts and is a time for some potential (or not) excitement as to how the club progresses. I for one comment and interact far more with these sorts of topics than match threads or moans about any current game or result we just had. I don't dismiss others wishes to do that, just my personal preferences. As for being `In the know` I have had one experience of it. I don't know if anyone ever remembers (and really no reason why you should) but at the time we signed Sorloth I was posting a lot because I did have a source who knew about the deal. The source was a source close to Jordie Hugill. I said as much and I was able to confirm that we were in for him, we had spoken to him etc. Many lambasted me on here and the mere mention that I knew someone who knew was automatically attacked as complete rubbish. I had to say I couldn't name the person at the time because I did not want them to get into trouble for leaking infomation to me, mainly from Hugill himself. I was able to confirm that the club had a decision to make between Hugill and Sorloth and we decided to go for Sorloth. As it was a `one off deal` in which I had this insider info I was at least able to say I would say who my insider` was afterwards. I did that and that placated some, but others flatly refused to believe it. What else do people want? For the record, as you can see I live in Middlesbrough, work extremely close to Boro's ground and know many of Boro staff. Hugill is from Boro and my work Partner at the time was (she has now left my workplace) Hugill's best friends mam. She had known Hugill from when he was a little kid and her son was being kept informed from Hugill himself and passing that info to his mam and her telling me. Info was as best as I could provide from what I was being told, believe I was being told from what they knew in good faith. Because his was a `one off I could say who my source was afterwards and suspect Dazza does the same but is unable to say who his source is exactly due to the risk of getting them into trouble.

I don't think Dazza's 'source' would get into trouble, more like a contract extension.

People on here treating him like a god. HE IS PLAYING YOU A LONG. The guys is a moron and has NO inside knowledge. End of! And I suppose you're white than white, Daz.

Are you upset because he nicked Dazza and you had to settle for Daz.CPFC? Its nothing really to get riled about. I don't think anyone on here treats him with god like status, slight incredulity possibly but that's all. I never believe a player or manager has signed until the club releases a statement and nor should anyone else. Well a two min check would show that I was a member before him, therefore that user name would have been available. Don’t make assumptions as you just embarrass yourself.

He wanted out of Preston NE desperately and had told the management so. He was very unhappy that he was not given to playing time he had been promised and that affected his wages which could not increase to the levels of others in the squad due to their wage cap.

We have seen the Mail article saying he's close to joining? How many 'close to joining' articles have there been with Palace since we came up that didn't go anywhere?
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

If the reports are true and don't follow the same theme of every other "close" appointment this summer in the Premier League - an enormous hats off to Parish & Freedman. Also an enormous deal of respect has to go to Roy for leaving the club in a position to do this.

You seem to get upset about all sorts of things rather easily. It was a quip which you appear to have become unnecessarily concerned with. Embarrassed, not a chance, more surprised you bit.

Take Me Out with Steve Parish is a farce where the objective is for a manager to be appointed for CPFC. Thirty management contenders all named on here by Dazza stand before Steve underneath thirty lights, with a button in front of them. Steve tries to persuade the contenders to agree to be our next manager in a series of rounds. At any point during the rounds, the contenders could turn off their light if they did not want to become manager. If, at the end of three rounds, there were still lights on, Steve would choose two himself. He would then have a chance to ask one question to the last two contenders, before choosing which one he wanted to be manager. Unfortunately, all of the contenders turned off their lights before the end of the third round and Steve was left without a manager. Steve has now gone off to Fernando's on his own.
