Good to know that the race of those who missed the pens is now suddenly not important to you. Minerals indeed. I'm not 'woke', I just appreciate that one person making a few comments you don't like, isn't a 'freebie' for you to fixate on the race of who misses penalties. HOL should be a broad church. Factor that in next time you 'aint no racist'.

In the subject at hand? Sure. Some posters have outright stated that they would like to fewer non-ethnically English players in the team, and those contributions drift by like a dream. When it's the 'black guy' offering a very watered down version of that (or infact not even that at all) about ten people pile in. That apparently suits you just fine. This guy may well be trying to get a rise, but isn't the reaction in comparison entirely OTT? Nobody cares about racist comments in the 'right direction'.

If you're going to take a dislike of one person and run with it to the extent that you're rushing back to your keyboard because of the race of penalty takers who miss then that's pretty silly. Hardly the players fault that you've had some kind of internet tiff is it, and there are plenty of other ways to criticise them. It's the same mindset that results in the inevitable twitter 'contributions' that come flooding in whenever a black England player doesn't perform [Link] .

Or if by subject at hand you mean the game, I've said plenty about that in other threads. You're the one coming out with this stuff here.

I feel for Saka. A decent little playmaker, and a lot of weight on his shoulders to end up taking the decider. I hope the lad holds his head up high and ignores the envitable deluge of s***e coming his way [Link] .

In any case, if this stuff is where 218 pages gets us, I'm not sure that me pissing in the wind is going to add anything. Just nice to remind people sometimes that whatever group comfort bubble they're in, it is just that, and ideas (left or right) are not always lifted up because they're salient, instead because they're commonplace in any given setting. A perpetual parroting of one half of the story.

Have fun for the next 218 pages, I'll sit them out in favour of the easy breezy .. Mange Tout, as Dell would say!

Don’t get carried away here. More in them? More than a team which contained Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton who won the World Cup? No it hasn’t.

Maybe if they didn’t have so much left in the tank they might have won. Or should that be the prerogative of a “load of dead blokes”?
