Skysports understands that Palace will not accept any bids in instalments and want all off the money upfront. We should, and hope we will, take a leaf out of Liverpool's book and play hardball with any club who does not meet our valuation of any of our players. The days of clubs screwing Crystal Palace over transfers should be in the past.

Are you sh*tting me? We sold an inexperienced fullback for £45m and you think we should sell our most important player for only 10m more? Bloody hell. After Man Utd's cut we'd be left with about 40m. And you think we'd get 3-4 players with that? Christ almighty. I'm going on the basis that Wilf is 26-27 years old with 3-4 years at top (guessing) ahead of him and the addition of add ons i.e £5M a year for 3 seasons, compared to 21 year old AWB who has a solid 10 years at the top level in front of him I would suggest. You want to do the basic maths that on those numbers AWB is worth approx £5M per season to Man Utd with 10 years, and Wilf being worth £12.5M per season to Arsenal for 4 years (taking him to 31 years of age) then reaching decline and little re-sale value. I get he is technically 'priceless' to us, just trying to be realistic with a lump sum payment and add ons as usual business. We are likely still paying in add ons for Benteke, Sakho and others. The 25% sell on would mean f*ck all to me if I was Arsenal, not their problem if they stump up a good lump of cash. If we FORCE him to stay for another season, he could lose value and not play well. Then we have an asset that was not sold at it's peak value with 1 year less on his current deal, thus we take a smaller offer to get rid next season. Just trying to have a slight business head on unlike some on here who think we are as good as Arsenal and Man Utd on and off the pitch. I don't want him to go, but if he wants to and may 'go on strike' then lets try and get a realistic figure. The longer we hold for £80M and it goes on until deadline day, we don't have time to replace or spend and pay BIG in January. Think about it...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I feel that the low bid is to encourage a transfer request by Zaha. I differ with those who think that playing hardball with Zaha is better for the club. That has a knock on effect to other players regarding contracts and team cohesion. Also, while I might reply to Zaha's brother that the time of Zaha's going is a club decision.....I wouldn't disagree with him that there are other duties at play here. Zaha is going and this is something we have known for some time now. If a player's desires lie elsewhere some form of agreement and reliable principle with them needs to be reached for trust to be continued.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I believe that Zaha's desire to leave is related to the selling of AWB, Wilf has four years on his contract and at the very most, I would offer to let him go in two seasons time as a compromise. Personally, after this public snub to the club, I would make him stay the four years and let him rot if need be.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle If Wilf is on £130 a week and gets no pay rise as a result of the move, that will cost Arsenal £6.76m a year in wages or £27m over a 4 year period. If Wilf is desperate to move he could halve his wages and Arsenal could add the £13m to the £40m. Somehow can't see him agreeing to that espeically with Lacazette and others on £180k - 200K a week he'll be expecting similar or more. To me makes his brothers comments seem even more strange and unrealistic.

The longer we hold for £80M and it goes on until deadline day, we don't have time to replace or spend and pay BIG in January. Think about it... Who cares what Arsenal think? This is about us. £55m upfront would be £40m to us. The clause would mean we get less than we got for AWB. Wilf is a proven PL forward, unlike AWB who is learning his trade (albeit he does look set for a bright future). Hazard had one year left on his contract, is older than Wilf and the deal to Madrid was worth 130m. Wilf is not as good as Hazard, but given he has 4-years left on his contract and is younger I would say he's definitely worth at least 80m on that basis. I get that every player has a price, but we shouldn't be bullied into one that makes no business sense for the club. Your suggestion makes you sound like Arsenal's accountant.

Wilf's brother Judicael,or should that be Judas ?, is stirring everything up with his stories to the press. Wilf's brother Judicael Boris Rodrigue Inchaud to give him his full name describes himself as a football agent which might give a clue as to why he's poking his nose in

Whatever happens I just hope this doesn't destabilise our pre-season planning. Hopefully the club and the player are in contact and we can resolve this quickly.
