Nice to see the waiting list for operations and other treatment on the NHS has now topped 7 million! But fear not people, apparently, according to the CONS, we are getting 40 new hospitals!

Apparently £4.3 billion has been lost by the CONS in the self employed covid scheme- most will never be recovered!

And "we don"t need a general election, and sat down!"No cherry picking here spider- no intent at all, just reporting the facts! You mean SHE doesn"t need a General election, I think most of the country would welcome one! For a non CON Spider, you get very picky defending them! She could not actually finish due to the childish behaviour of many MPs . She sat down as it was the end of PMQs

And just watching a news article about asylum seekers, who are housed in a mansion near Rugby. They are all getting 2 GP visits a week. That’s if they can pull themselves away from the billiard room! And since when has a policy of reducing taxes been something a Conservative is not meant to support? OK, perhaps playing Devils Advocate on this but all I seem to see is hysteria. I genuinely believe that the elites want an election because they want Starmer in number 10 by way of pushing us back into the EU. 100% what Washington wants for all kinds of reasons. And more than happy to put the boot into this Tory Government but all I see is an economy doing fantastically well in some ways whilst generally suffering from a Covid hang-over that is impacting all over. What is wrong with wanting to put more money in people's pockets?
Good points indeed

Edited by Spiderman (13 Oct 2022 8.48pm) Perhaps the gp"s could give them NHS application forms and start to fill the 120,000 jobs currently needed- thus reducing the 7 million waiting list- whats not to like?

There is nothing wrong in putting more money in people's pockets, for the lowest earners and struggling families in particular it relieves their scraping to get by and generates activity. Everybody seems to have forgotten Sunak's huge tax hike, taking it back is worthy it did not appear to do any good. Truss's tax cuts for the rich generate very little, we need to relieve poverty by putting money into the pockets of lower wage earners and people on benefits.

Just a thought but why would the government give us time to buy in stocks of generators, Solar panels etc? My theory is that if we do buy this stuff it might create the needed economy boost. Or am I overthinking?
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

What and who decides the genuinely needy then? I doubt whether you will get the job! Anyone who can afford new cars and iPhones isn't needy. Having a lovely way of life doesn't depend solely on money. A lot depends on your attitude to life, and your health. Sorting the genuine from the opportunist is the challenge that no-one has yet won. That's why we need new measurements, retraining of existing staff and increased numbers of them. Of course there will be mistakes. There always are, and are now. The question is where to draw a line. What level of risk is acceptable.
