Have to agree with above although another small step this could take years and after covid and pau per view etc we might have different ideas about bigger new grounds etc.

But they’ve been in on and off talks for years so it’s likely that it could take another couple before they can conclude and start thinking about breaking ground.

So we could be waiting another year or more. Very disappointing really isn't it. Let's hope we are still in the PL by then.

If I were Parish I would now be deep in the zone of under promising and over delivering. So it's hard to be sure where things are at.

Start of work will be at least 12 months from when palace ask the council to buy the houses on wooderson close. The council must use the money to construct the same number of new houses in the borough. So it would seem that it’s the councils duty to build the new houses. But construction can’t start Until work on the replacement dwellings is underway. Even though it seems like the club has no control over when the council start works. That might leave some kind of wiggle room but I’d guess at least 24 months. Then the stand can’t be used until the houses are built.

I said this before and I'll say it again, I can see the covid situation influencing how stadiums are built in the future. It's shown match day revenue isn't the be all and end all. In America, pitch side is all corporate - don't be surprised to see that - comfy seats with personal staff, almost restaurant like set up along the half way line, with ceilings.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Anything is possible but the effects of covid in top level football are far from known. Two years of this and what you would see is an unprecedented bifurcation in what TV is willing to pay for.
