I'm not, and you're avoiding the point.

You said Hodgson left Rio out of Euro 2012 because Anton had been racially abused. Plainly, on the facts, he didn't. Not even close.

Still, you don't like Hodgson so just make s*** up about him eh?

I'm sure Rio had a different view, but Hodgson will say anything his employees want him to.

His move to South Africa was purely football motivated too. He just ignored a global boycott and institutional human rights abuses.

He picked Kelly for England, lol.

Ah, so even though Hodgson explained that Rio was left out because of his injury record, and even though the number of games Rio had missed, and the lengthy rest he needed between games are all a matter of recorded fact, and even though he did exactly the same thing with Cole two years later, none of this matters. It's all, in fact, a cover up.

You seem to be one of those people who don't need to assess the evidence, or even acknowledge it's existence, to know what is really going on.

That's why he omitted Wilshire from the 2016 Euros too.....oh wait.

Damn me for to assessing the evidence! I should just listen to everything Roy says and accept it as gospel!

Strange that people who claim he's an experienced manager love to cover up for his stupid decisions when his track record is examined.

Ferdinands back injury meant he had to rest for at least a week or longer in between games. It wasn't going to get fixed, it just had to be managed that way. Not uncommon, but no use for a tournament. Plus we had other good centre halves to pick from (you may recall Lescott playing very well that summer).

Whilshires injuries needed no such regime. He was either fit at the time or he wasn't, and at the time he was fit - hence he played in three of our four games there. Not uncommon, you may recall Brazilian Ronaldo missing hundreds of games before the 2002 World Cup, but being fit enough to play every game and be top scorer at the time. Plus, as you may recall, England were desperate for anyone who could pass water let alone a ball.

So you're making a false comparison to support a narrative you have opted for, rather than forming a view on the facts.

There's a lot of that about at the moment.

Mate... you're comparing Ronaldo to Wilshere... come on now.

No, I'm using both as an example of the same thing, which they are.

And frankly you are attempting to misdirect.

You are more than entitled to consider Hodgson the worst manager in the world, but if you want to say something about him on a public forum that just isn't true then you should expect to be called out.

I didn't say he was the worst manager in the world. It's like your out of arguments and calling out fake news.

Comparing picking Wilshire to picking Ronaldo..... haha.

Again, you are misdirecting and avoiding the point.

You are entitled to form any view you please on Hodgsons failings as a manager, but not to lie about him.

Not picking Rio was definitely not down to the Terry/Anton incident coz Roy said so. He'd have definitely come out in public saying he picked the racist over the victims family member should that have been a factor.
Picking Kelly ahead of Ferdinand was a good decision.
There's no inconsistency between not picking Ferdinand due to injury in 2012 and picking Wilshire in 2016.
Wilshire is as important to England as Ronaldo is to Brazil.... but Roy still shouldn't have picked Ferdinand.
Roy's never put a foot wrong, and any critisism is lie.

Best to quit whilst your ahead. Perhaps your defence of Roy would be plausible if you weren't in such denial of his major gaffs.

I wish Roy would do the same.

Anyway, I'm glad he's finally started to play Reidewald, a step in the right direction. Have a great evening.

(Shame we have to end a fun debate because someone is chosing to read something that annoys them).
