Would hope that isn't true.

From his earlier comments, it sounds like the brother is trying to leverage the fans in putting pressure on the club to take Zaha's point of view.

If this is true, Zaha and his brother would do very well to remember that the club comes first and his idea about him being 'loved' can turn very, very fast. Take Freedman as an example.

He knows his market value, and the club aren't going to be mugged of their spending power to do him a favour. He'd be nowhere without the club, so I'd say we're even presently.

If Arsenal bid the money, then good luck to him. If they don't, that's their problem, not ours.

There's been no direct quotes in the press from the player or either club, so you are then left with whatever crap the press decide to feed you.

The quotes from Wilf's brother being a prime example. What planet is he residing on if he thinks Palace should sell Zaha for perhaps half his value as some sort of loyalty reward so he can fulfil his '' dream '' of playing for Arsenal !

Financially, I don't think Arsenal have anywhere to go with this unless they have a major rethink, and even then I can't see them coughing up £80m

Whether they'd want to come to us is Arsenal's problem. It's them that want to make it happen. If they don't, then there's no deal, and we're back with the hand we've currently got which we're pretty happy with.

The club need to hard ball this. We cannot be pushed over here. We owe Arsenal and Zaha absolutely nothing.

If he refuses to play, can we then pay him statutory sick pay? £130k a week to £95 a week.

This.
I doubt Wilf would sell any of his 'assets' for way below any given market value so hopefully, his ''dream move'' aside, he'll understand why we wouldn't either.
For the record i'd be happy with anything over £60mil (fair market value imo), thank Wilf, wish him all the best and move on.........or all suffer a long and distasteful stand-off that could easily last many months.

Hopefully the former.

He has been rewarded for his loyalty with over £6.5m per year.

£60 million plus Jenkinson and a.n.other ... but 2 players have to come our way or no deal IMO. Or £70 million + Jenkinson ...

We won't get 80 million off anyone for him. Sad but true ...

I think that £55 million but without Jenkinson is a better deal for us

Not sure about Jenkinson. He might turn out OK but at the moment we’d be doing them a favour by taking him.

That would suit us fine, we don’t want anyone to offer £80m for him.

I have to say, I don't see Wilf as the kind of person to strike, refuse to play and cause a massive scene. He's always done right by us and I'd rather give him the benefit of the doubt over a few comments from his brother and some div off Sky Sports.

He does deserve his chance at the top level but we deserve to get as close to the asking price we have put on his head.

I do think that he could do better than Arsenal.

I do wonder if Spurs sold Erikson this window, whether they would use the money for Zaha as they seem to be wrapping up Ndombele and it might be too soon for Clarke.
