This fight has been going on since around 1020BC which is more or less when most scholars think David slew Goliath. Three millennia of conflict
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

You don’t actually believe that tosh do you. Islam since conception has been anti Jew/west. It doesn’t need extremists; they Follow the silly book code and if not you die. This war just gives them a practical reason in others eyes. If Israel gave all their country over to the surrounding ones and moved to Australia the Muslims would still want them dead! Some Muslims might. Just as some Christians would want them dead. Increasing numbers of Muslims are MINO( muslin in name only) just as Christians are CINO. Not yet as many,,but give it time and the light will dawn. The age of religion is over. It’s just that some places are slower to catch on than others. Education and access to information are the keys. Provide them and people will question. We have.

This isn’t a board which has links to any specific political viewpoint. It is a section of a football forum, so my opinions have every bit as much right to be here as any other. No one needs to read them.

The principle of free speech, especially speech we don't like, is a cornerstone of western freedom....one that is under significant legal erosion with modern neoliberalism. However, while I think we all agree that people should be free to voice their opinions that does not mean that others should have no ability to avoid them other than leaving. So once an ignore facility becomes available those that want or do not want to see the posts of certain posters can have that freedom.....just as with speaker's corner where a person is free to voice an opinion but no one is forced to hear it.

I find it pathetic that people find it difficult to ignore posts on any forum without the site providing them an “ignore” facility. It’s really very straightforward. See a post from someone you don’t want to read, and just ignore it. I do it frequently! I think what is actually desired is the ability of a group of like minded individuals to freeze out someone they disagree with. Thus turning an open forum into a closed one. As there are boundless opportunities for closed groups in which the like minded can massage their prejudices, to turn a football forum like this into one would be regrettable.

With online forums, it's like tedious pub bores who believe they know something about everything, are never wrong, refuse to accept when they are and reject all responses. Edited by georgenorman (15 May 2024 9.37am)

The BBS has an ignore button however most don't use it, preferring to complain about the poster on a daily basis. If they did use it no one would be posting. Edited by Badger11 (15 May 2024 9.27am)

I think it's your self righteous narcissism that offends everyone else, but I do respect your right to post counterpoints, even if you often just argue for argument’s sake. If you were chucked out, this place would be no better than the other site.
