I for one enjoy Dazza's posts, and feel more respect should be afforded to his pronouncements.

When I was a schoolboy in fair Broad Green, to the west of the great metropolis of Croydon, we would attach great weight to the utterances of soothsayers like Dazza. These wise men would generally be found at bus stops, clutching a can of Tenants Super to their bosoms, shouting at cats, wandering into the traffic, and soiling themselves. On a good day, if my friends and I could creep close enough to hear their words of wisdom, we would gain all sorts of insights into the true nature of life, or the government's secret plans for us, or other mental s*** like that. Then we'd throw stones at them and run away.

I'm not suggesting anyone throw stones at Dazza, simply that his posts be enjoyed rather than taken too seriously.

I'll turn the attention off Dazza back to where it's deserved.

It is now over a month since Hodgson's departure was announced, a decision that is suspected to have been made around February given the comments Hodgson made around the time of the Leeds game.

We start training in two weeks with no manager and 16 senior players, two of whom have a long-term achilles injury and another who publicly wants out.

The amount of work that needs to be done to be ready for the start of the season is extraordinary. We're >33% of the way through the summer, and we've got one contract signed. That needs to speed up dramatically, with roles filled this week.

Starting pre-season with no manager and the squad as free agents would be disastrous and embarrassing.

to support your argument Favre has been out of work since December - maybe he was always under consideration but that wouldn't explain the delay. It does not appear to be a very diligent process - his suitability seems only to have come to light recently. I might get some egg on my face but I think we'll know one way or the other with Favre by the end of the week - my speculation (besed my rerading of the betting) is that the position is being considered, we're just waiting for an answer.
