Looks like that drunk and fruitcake believer Tom Watson is soon to be kicked from the deputy leadership by Momentum. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Sep 2019 10.52pm)

I find the idea that someone like Harman can be a neutral speaker as almost comical. The tenure of Bercow has truly damaged this position and we need someone who truly respects the role to be handed it....not another narcissist who still wants to be involved. Plus she has past form(which MP hasn't you could argue)wasn't she pushing back in the day for Peadophiles to be treated in the same way as Gay folk in other words legalise it. Plus her husband is an opportunist scumbag as well.

Market forces old son. A bit like another thread where the general thrust was to stop buying the Sun newspaper, and my response was who actually walks into a newsagents of a morning & spends 25p on a paper? Certainly not the numbers that used to say even 10 years ago.

Harman, was an official in the 'National Council for Civil Liberties'. alongside her husband who became a Labour front bench MP and Patricia Hewitt, a former Labour Cabinet minister under Tony Blair, and they all worked for the council in the 1970s. In 1975, the campaign group – which lives on today as human rights watchdog Liberty – granted official “affiliate” status to the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), a body which lobbied openly for child sex. My mate booked a holiday with City Breaks for next week we arranged to meet in Seville as I am also off to Spain. City Breaks went bust 2 months ago so for a while he was uncertain if it would happen. Still the good news was that he booked it through a travel agent, Thomas Cook. I think I will call him lucky. He's supposed to fly Monday. As for TC you may not have noticed but they are the last chain of high street travel agents. Gone the way of the dodo I'm afraid. Any potential buyer will close the stores its the airline and the tour company they want.

Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Sep 2019 12.00am) I don't care for Harriet Harman however I was more interested in the constitutional issue rather than the individual when I posted the link. For some voters having their MP as speaker is a good thing. However Harman's own local party are not happy because they want an MP that plays an active role in party politics and so the role of speaker actually disenfranchises the voters. I wonder how the voters of Buckinghamshire feel about Bercow. None of the other major parties stood against him so his re-election was almost automatic since he took the job. The Speakers role is important but on reflection I would not like my MP to do it. Edited by Badger11 (21 Sep 2019 7.34am)
