This post has been merged from a topic called 'Frank De Boer in talks!' by kenbarr FDB was part of the great mid 90's Ajax team. Big lad up top (Kanu, Kluivert) with pacy wingers (Overmars, Finidi George (before Ipswich ruined him)) and Litmanen/Seedorf creating. If we could replicate something like that with Benteke, Zaha, Townsend, Cabaye it could work. Playing out from the back always tended to be a bit of a liability with Delaney/Dann/Jedi and a right-footed left back (Ward/Kelly), but if Sakho returns him, Tomkins and Milivojević are more comfortable with the ball. Plus he'd be able to attract a higher calibre of player than Dyche.

I was talking a lifelong Burnley fan today (the dad of my son's team mate) who was adamant that Dyche is already looking at signings for next season at Turf Moor and has no intention of joining Palace. He said he knows a director who is baffled by the speculation linking him with a move to London. Hearsay, of course, but he seemed certain it wasn't happening.......

Great news,a lot of Burnley fans say it's not happening. and their chairman knows nothing of our interest apparently.

Remember what SP said; if Sam had stayed it was going to Sakho + 1, but now Sakho would be difficult as we'd need to bring in a few. You can be certain the total budget won't have changed.

Ranieri won the league Playing counter attacking football. That's our style. He could certainly keep this squad up comfortably like that I'm sure.
