Agreed Penge. I’m happy to lay off but most of the time I’m merely having a bit of banter to pass the time, or as in more recent times, i’m Sticking up for myself or my point of view. People have taken things far too personally on this subject. There have been hundreds of dreadful players who have turned out for Palace over the years and received real grief from the stands and terraces. This is an Internet forum to engage, discuss, have a pop at things that agrieve you and also show adulation when and where it’s warranted. If I’m to be sensored or volountarlity step down from my opinion, then so should all of the people that bash Parish, Puncheon, Speroni ect.
"We love you Palace, we f@cking hate Man U, We love you Palace, we hate the brighton too, We love you Palace we play in red 'n' blue, so f@ck you, and you ... |

However much we love Jules, he is past his best and fair play to the fella he is 38! His strengths have always been his reflexes and shot stopping. However his kicking has always been terrible. For a grown man he can barely make the half way line. He also has this odd style of slicing the ball on drop kicks which never go to anyone and again barely gets any distance. Did anyone notice Pickfords kicking on saturday for Everton, chalk and cheese. We are in a rock a and a hard place with Jules and Wayne at the moment. Its our own negligence again not buying another goalkeeper in Jan. This might be where things are heading? Hennessey to move on in January leaving JS filling in rather well on the whole (Obviously he made a bad mistake on Saturday) but apart from that he has done very well (my view). A new no 1 could come in in January, leaving JS as an excellent deputy? Trouble is this would still leave us with just 2 goalkeepers. So I think what might be more preferable is for Hennessey to stay until the summer then move on, leaving us just 1 gk to recruit in January?

This depends on if we want any money for him and more importantly what he wants. He will have very little trouble finding another club particularly on a free. It will depend if he wants to go in January or the Summer. I think he will go January as he needs to restore his confidence and we save 6 months wages and will get a nominal fee. I am not sure it will be Sunderland as I think he will have EPL offers.I think possibly Stoke, Newcastle or WBA

I am much more pleased that after 10,0000,0000 palpitations this is the end of an over criticised GK. I hope he goes on and does really well. Shame it wasn't for us but a decent, honest, respectful and talented keeper who tried to step into the shoes of a beautiful legend. At least this most boring thread with repetitive posts will disappear!

Some of the abuse that the man gets is just a disgrace, this isn't really aimed at anyone on here as the majority of the the time people are just stating their opinion, however he gets far too much disgusting abuse. Look we all know he isn't a great keeper, I do not rate him at all, but that is not a reason to send tweets telling him to "f*ck off" or to "die". It is just a disgrace, the other day when he played in the cup against Bristol City, fans started chanting Speroni. I took my son to the Box Park event on Tuesday and when it was announced that Hennessy was there, he got booed! Fans have really gone too far now, to criticise a player is one thing but the way some fans abuse him, it just needs to stop. Not aimed at anyone on this thread, I've only really seen criticism of him here and not abuse.

After a solid performance on Saturday, after which Wayne deservedly kept his place, having won it back in the face of animosity from many, great to see a superb performance from the Big Welshman tonight in a crucial derby, keeping a clean sheet and making 4 saves. Will like to see some of the Hennessey haters come on here and give him credit, including Hambo from Holmesdale radio who disgracefully laid into him for no reason on his sunday podcast.

He played fine in both games but the Sky highlights show that him and crosses do not get on - Tony Gale slated him about it.

To be fair, it was the sort of game that did little for the reputation of either goalkeeper. The Brighton keeper made a good double save, but I didn’t remember much to either add to, or detract from Hennessey’s reputation - whether you are a Wayne lover or hater, or an agnostic like most.

Wayne was so worried about the man in front of him, Stephens. A team like WBA who are renowned for their set piece prowless gives me great fear going into saturday, can see a corner getting put in by them.

The quality of their delivery from set plays was very good but, even so, WH did flap at several of them, on another day that could have cost us. Otherwise he was sound. Although I am a fan of his, I honestly don't think Jules would have coped any better with the crosses. Upgrade needed in January.
