Bournemouth's bubble will pop eventually - he will be snapped up by a much bigger club soon enough i think. It's quite dangerous for a club to be so dependent on one man.

Whilst I can understand his reasons for staying, he has now turned down 4 opportunities and surely he will get a reputation for this? My major concern is that it looks like we've put all our eggs in one basket and now will either be waiting at least another week, or giving it to Dougie to the end of the season. Neither of which fill me will confidence about staying up. Ipswich have sacked and appointed a manager in the time we have been deliberating!

Just spoke to my brother, his girlfriends mum is the manager of the bars/catering at AFC Bournemouth and he's the manager of a bookies just down the road from the ground (Kinson if anyone knows the area) ......bit of cliché on the Holmesdale I know... and he doesn't think its going to happen, he's been down the club today and spoken to a couple of people who should be "in the know" and they don't think he will be leavingI then hung up on him in anger....fingers crossed still just watched his interview on south today and he did act a bit sheepish with his answers Andy,

Disapointed by this as I thought he would have been good appointment but no time to dwell on it we need a manager asap. I respect the guys decision as its good to see loyalty in football and he clearly hasnt done it for money. Though he may be too loyal and if things start to go downhill at Bournemouth will struggle to get other jobs.

Watching our new board learn on the job how football works is proving to be a painful experience. While we should back them, they do need to start learning rather more quickly than they appear to be doing at present. Furthermore, in any industry (not just football), it is basic prudence and sound management that you don't make a change (thereby creating a problem) until you have the solution at hand (look at Ipswich: Jewell had clearly been lined up at the time Keane departed.) The present situation is a mess; nearly halfway through the transfer window, no manager, little direction, and a team in the drop zone. It is, though, a mess entirely of our own making. The board needs to improve its performance almost as much as the team do theirs.
