Bang average is being highly complimentary. Benteke reminds me of this kid who used to play in our team at U-13 level. Totally useless, afraid of the ball, afraid of opponents, but the manager had to give him half an hour each weekend and we did our best to encourage him whenever he got anywhere near the ball. The difference being that Benteke is a professional on £120k p/w. Taking the f***ing piss. This is spot on

Has Parish extended Benteke’s contract to protect the investment after Sunday’s display? File with FDB’s football revolution in 2-3 months with a tenner and Sakho, oh and Benteke upfront who couldn’t play on the deck with the academy. Please Parish, have qualified people in charge of football matters.

It is strange (and frustrating) to watch a player go so unbelievably out of form. I can't think of many Palace players who have been so poor compared to their previous performances for the club (albeit this is now a distant memory). I said it somewhere before but he just reminds me of the basketball players in Spacejam once they've had their talent sucked out. Same physical appearance but just plays like he's had a lobotomy. Think I'd give Rob Street a run out next time. I don't think he's ready but it'd be nice to witness some headless chicken youthful exuberance instead of just extremely costly headless chicken.

I expect he will sign a new deal and then come next summer leave. His confidence is shot and I don't think he has been happy at the club since Roy came in which i don't blame him the same old tactics and player switching is awful. How we can go from a team that used to break with pace and put in good set plays also crosses to current system shows he have gone backwards.

How will he leave, who is going to pay him 120k a week, no one, if we offer him less money a week on a new contract he is entitled to a free transfer, so what is the point of losing 6.2m each year,

From someone outside of our club with the same views our fans have: [Link]
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |
