Since when has "I'm not racist, so no need for racial discrimination laws" even become an argument? That's after you stop laughing at the fact that he's describing the major party with the biggest issue with race blunders as colour blind. Yes,Farage said that last week or the week before,a week after the relevant party spokesman had suggested there would be a strict 50,000 overall cap.but now Farage is saying even if you can legally work and are in the country,employers should discriminate in offering a job to a UK passport holder over and above a foreign national,so the lesser able applicant may get the job.A strange idea for someone who (purely as a matter of general principle no doubt)would presumably argue that positive discrimination in opportunities for "ethnic minorites" and women is wrong. For once i agree with Farage. I'd rather the work went to a UK passport holder.
As for the possibility of a 'lesser able applicant' getting the job, it's up to the employer to define 'lesser'.
