No,these people are "followers" in the same way that camp followers supported an army in times gone by, but dissappeared like the night mist on asunny morning when that army suffered a change in fortune. At the risk of derailing this to talk about football..the general consensus at the end of the seven games losing run seemed to be that we had a small aging squad that needed attention. Given that we have brought in a free transfer we already had, a loan signing and one actual purchase and sold a bloke we'd already sold there has been surprisingly little comment on how we are doing. All seems a bit quiet of the transfer front. I'm hoping the cogs are whirring behind the scenes and we haven't just decided that after the good start we don't need anyone else.

I have a feeling either negotiations are ongoing, the Sorloth sale has altered our plans or we may be looking at some last minute dealings as we are used to.

In any case, at least we got Eze and Bats sorted early. Here's hoping we continue our good start to the league and we see a few more in-comings before the end of the window!

In the meantime, I don’t expect us to bring in anyone else particularly exciting, couple of young ones maybe.

According to my sources, Crystal Palace are considering a move for Vitesse Arnhem left-back Max Clark amid the uncertainty over the future of Patrick van Aanholt.

My sources say this is a somewhat uninspiring link that we can only hope is cheap. His political views are unknown, as is his ability to take a free kick around/under or over a wall.
