There was a recent documentary exposing the conspiracy theories that have built up around Soros and explaining why he has been selected as the target. Finding a bogeyman to blame for everything stops you having to actually explain your own policies. Trump learned that from Roy Cohn and has relentlessly followed it ever since, along with never apologise always attack your critic. Soros fits the Trump campaign needs perfectly. Rich but liberal in outlook. Has established foundations intended to encourage democracy, Blaming him has become a mantra of the right and populists everywhere, to the degree that many on the right now believe it implicitly. It's fake. Totally fake. It's just a shameful campaign tactic. So the documentary you watched was the pure unadulterated truth. Ain’t it always the way?

Lets remind people that this guy spent...what was it?... months on the Trump thread pushing the Russian collusion conspiracy theory and telling us that the Mueller report was taking orange man down. Now suddenly for conspiracy theories he doesn't like it's....'let's be sensible'.

There is no genuine doubt about climate change being, in part at least, influenced by man's activities. the only opposition comes from those who have a commercial interest in resisting the necessary actions and the "research" that they fund to support them. Such arguments don't convince me. Nor do they most people. Brexit is different. That's down to individual judgements about what ultimately is in our best interests and there can be merit in both viewpoints. Even if some people don't understand the process of how the UK reaches it's overall conclusions.

May I set the record straight over something which belongs elsewhere but has been raised here as an example of a conspiracy theory. The Russian involvement in the 2016 US election campaign is no conspiracy theory. It is a matter of fact, revealed and understood by all the US intelligence agencies. What has not yet been established is the level of proof necessary to either impeach the President or bring cases against all of his closest allies on their involvement or knowledge. The important word is yet. Never forget that some have been convicted of related cases. The Mueller report revealed a lot but as a sitting President cannot be prosecuted, and the Senate is Republican controlled, impeachment is now regarded as a waste of time. If we had a Democratic controlled Senate I believe Trump would now be out of office and facing jail time. Which he will anyway in due course. Just because a serial liar says that the Mueller report totally exonerates him and that the accusations are all fake doesn't make it so. Only fools fall for that tactic.

Who's proved that its man made or influenced by man. Scientists all over the world have proved it! As I think I told people here before 20 years ago I got to know one of the most senior scientists at the UEA in Norwich in their climate research unit. This is the major research station on this in the UK and they advise government whilst taking on research projects on impact assessments for other, smaller, countries. She was 100% convinced that man's contribution to global warming is real, even back then, and it's certainty has hardened since among others. That there is a range of possible outcomes is also true but that it is happening is not in doubt in the real scientific community. Only with politicians who want to push continual growth and re-election. My friend has the highest integrity of anyone you can imagine, so if she says it's true, then it's true. Whether you choose to believe it is another matter, but that doesn't stop it being true. That some make money from it, whilst others choose to deny it is also true, but that's different. It's true. Man made climate change is real.

Read the thread, it's all there, it's page upon page.....you are seriously suggesting that I'm not telling the truth about this clown spending 'months on the Trump thread pushing the Russian collusion conspiracy theory and telling us that the Mueller report was taking orange man down.'? Last time I bothered to prodice evidence on this joker you came up with weak excuses for him. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Sep 2019 10.35pm)

Anyone who has followed the Trump story as closely as I have in recent years and is able to understand that bluster, bs and lies don't add up to truth will know that the smoke that surrounds him has a source. Blame shifting and diversion has been Trump's modus operandi ever since he learned it from Roy Cohn. He is doing so now by trying to accuse his accusers of a "deep state" conspiracy. It's what he does. That smoke comes from Russia just as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. As time alone will tell. Until then we must all just be patient, allow the US to carry on with their damage limitation efforts to rein him in and restrict his ability to cause havoc. It's taking longer than many hoped but this story has many chapters to be written yet. Just because Trump wants to close the book doesn't mean he can. The US system is bigger than any President and the law will eventually overcome every effort to thwart it. As our local wanna be Trumpian clone will also no doubt discover.
