Leeds have only won 2 of their last 7 PL games at Home. They love teams to play the high press and then they score on the break away. They just want to out score other teams and they do it well. Roy will try to frustrate them which I am sure he will, just like he does with the happy clappers on here....

I don't recall any of their "clear cut chances" in the second half getting within a sniff of a goal. 62% possession and 18 chances flattered their performance. Bruce got schooled. We had one disallowed and Townsend's howler. It could easily have been 1-4. We won on merit and according to plan. Twice they headed just wide. One shot was blocked and Guaita made a save or two. There may have been more than five. As you say, our clearest chance was Townsend, which was a sitter. Riedewald's goal was deflected but looked like it was in and we had a set piece goal. By your same analogy it could have been 4-3 to them. It wasn't, we take the points and move on. Nice to be on the right side of this kind of game for once. Our offside goal was massively offside and does not count as anything - except poor positioning. It's not like it was controversial.

Are we going to get these posts praising Roy as the messiah on each of the rare occasions we win. Admittedly, he got it right last night, but he just gets it wrong far too often. Our best player last night was Riedewald, who's been impressive pretty much every time he played. He's played over 45 minutes 8 times this season. We've only lost two of those games. Once when Luka was sent off, once when Zaha was injured. Since Cabaye left our midfield has been dreadful, but last season he only managed 7 starts mostly from left back, 0 the season before, and 4 in 2017/18, mostly under FdB. We've been served up a lot of tripe over the past few years. Constantly picking Kayoute in midfield who generally just does an impression of Bambi on ice. It just goes to show that Roy constantly overlooks good players to stick with his underperforming favourites. Wolves and Newcastle have won one game each since before Christmas.

Where? I've not seen any. On the other hand, we seem to get plenty of posts making him out to be Satan incarnate when we don't win. Funny, that.

Possession and chances are facts and tell the story of the game yesterday. We were the better team for only a quarter of the game. I find it amusing some try to pass it off as a managerial masterclass and 'according to plan' as by default you would have to accept that our baron streaks and hammerings are also down to the manager and the so called 'plan' which does not work more than it does work and fails miserably too often. We did not win on merit or according to plan, we won through luck in a game of tight margins as we occasionally lose these too - things went our way yesterday as sometimes they do not. Do you know I want to obey the forum rules and ensure I am courteous and respectful to other posters but when someone posts this absolute... No, I'll behave.

Count the number of posts saying we were "lucky" to win last night. Even if true, can't recall them admitting when the luck was against us rather than it all being about Roy.

What I'd like to see is if Roy can push us on to a 10th place finish, there's not a lot in it. Edited by southnorwoodhill (03 Feb 2021 1.31pm)

All this rubbish about Roy picking his favourites! Perhaps just perhaps, Roy picks them because he sees them in training unlike the moaners and he may think that they will be the best players to win the match and therefore keep him in a job. Also as ever stats only tell half the story, the one that matters from last night said we scored two goals, Newcastle only one.
