I personally find the absence of the ‘If my memory serves me right’ posts (along with the accompanying pretentious and attention seeking sideshow) pure bliss.

Not to mention the repetitive self pitying drivel that followed any rebuke.

MODS please merge this thread with the 'Pathetic and pointless arguments' thread as it clearly no longer has anything to do with transfers or palace (despite many attempts by posters to try and get it back on track).

I thought I had seen the bottom of the barrel being scraped clean in the news/politics section. To which you are probably the most vociferous and opinionated regular poster.

But to introduce political mud slinging into a discussion on future transfers reaches down to a new level. This thread is now so far off track it's next stop might well be enthusing about Brexit or supporting Trump.

I would like to know what rumours people have heard about possible transfers. If I want to know your political views (I don't) then I know where to find them.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Question is did he jump or was he pushed? I pose the question from a personal experience of this individual’s modus operandi together with similar postings of the last few years directed at others. I was incensed at the time, and the most natural response was to respond in the same terms he used. There was a time when I was new to this Internet/ Social Media thing when I would have so done. He would undoubtedly have yellow-carded me.
But learning by other postings on many a site I came to appreciate that no one deserves to be belittled for their point of view no matter how much of a “dork” they are. I wonder where I heard that term after many a year? (Irony alert) Therefore I chose not to dignify his vitriolic personal outburst with a response, instead contemplating other avenues of redress. It was left to two other regular posters to do what I understand in the vernacular is “call him out”
So my mind was made up for me when “Irony of Ironies” a cursory search of the small print revealed that the transgressor had transgressed the very rules he had written.
Now as to the question raised in the first sentence. It would be unfair to everyone if I left it hanging in the air. I believe the answer is the latter. Review the evidence members of the jury, .or perhaps I am ITK (Just me showing off my appreciation of the knowledge gained from the varied and talented posters on this site).
Long may they continue to prosper despite in turns being, entertaining, exasperating,, modest, opinionated, inspiring, depressing, enlightening, deliberately deceiving, rational, prejudiced, respectful, downright rude, selfless researchers, purveyors of second-hand news, self-effacing, ego trippers of low esteem, tellers of as it is, fawning sycophants.
There is a place for all of these, despite, perhaps because of, those who snipe and bitch”(no offence to the ladies) at those who they, for whatever reason, wish to dominate (or the B word). No names as it breaks “house rules but we are all ITK. I am not going to be trite and quote the sadly ill-fated Jo Cox’s maiden parliamentary speech though it may be pertinent. I speak as one who enjoys the distanced company of all who post, including the second kind in the spirit of goodwill to all men (and women) and not solely at Christmas (Brexit Remoaners excepted).
Ultimately, I enjoy the camaraderie and the many hours of free diversion which all of you provide on this site and if truth be told, so do the vast majority of us mostly but not all of the time.. I am proud to be a member of this club as we are all, for in our diversity we are this club. Not the transient people who own and run it, and definitely not the career finite overpaid, oversexed, overhere if it suits, hypocritical badge kissing prima donnas
I seldom post, so this is a Matteo sized post ( no criticism just admiration by a nod to him in one of the categories), but in my head is ringing out the recurring criticism of my children, so I will get off my undeserved lofty soapbox (children: pulpit) and “exeunt uno” stage left or is it right (just to be mysterious)
