They had about five clear cut chances, we had about three. It could have been any score really. Hilarious win for us. What we need to do now is not think we're safe and no mention of Europe.

Not really still believe every game we wins seems to be because the opposition plays bad rather then we play if the other team plays reasonably we lose simple as that. This is the glass half empty view with the Roy out brigade. When we lose it’s the managers fault, but back-to-back wins are because of the opposition was s***. I watched the Newcastle Everton game and Newcastle bossed it and ran out comfortably winners. Wolves beat arsenal yesterday. Can’t you see that our set up makes these teams looks awful. Admittedly, it does not always work. I was watching the post match and JJ and Hargreaves BOTH said that Roy should be talked up with likes bielsa and hassenhuttl for the job his done. It’s crazy that neutrals can see it but our own fans can’t. Attachment: trim.D245BB18-D706-476F-834E-7D85E10F4AA8.MOV (21,534.54Kb)

Ugly win as I posted last night so all very positive - two wins on the bounce as we head away from any sign of trouble.

I don't recall any of their "clear cut chances" in the second half getting within a sniff of a goal. 62% possession and 18 chances flattered their performance. Bruce got schooled. We had one disallowed and Townsend's howler. It could easily have been 1-4. We won on merit and according to plan.

We were the better team for only a quarter of the game. I find it amusing some try to pass it off as a managerial masterclass and 'according to plan' as by default you would have to accept that our baron streaks and hammerings are also down to the manager and the so called 'plan' which does not work more than it does work and fails miserably too often. We did not win on merit or according to plan, we won through luck in a game of tight margins as we occasionally lose these too - things went our way yesterday as sometimes they do not.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Dear God! Can we please close this thread. The arguments are getting more and more desperate. You want to close a thread that has just got going? The Roy out brigade will be very vocal again when we lose to Leeds United on Monday night with the 100mph murder style football they play. I have stuck by Roy and I hope he sees the season out which I am sure he will. Bring on the Leeds game and Roy will set us up to counter attack and keep it tight. So it is more of the same until we are mathematically safe, then we will play with a bit more of an attacking intent.

When we lose, it's 'Roy Out'! When we win, it's 'Knighthood for Roy'! When we draw, it's 'He's Too Old'! (I went to school with him by the way!) Edited by georgenorman (03 Feb 2021 10.18am)

I feel like Leeds have it within them to hammer us but I also have a gut feeling we'll be too wily and Prem experienced for them (again) and get something from the game. I'm usually as pessimistic as you Willo but I am just not fearing this game as much as I usually do, maybe as we have won the last two and it's relieved some of the pressure!

We should ruffle Bamford's hair, that should put him off his game.
