Having used Virgin trains many times, I have no doubt that it became very busy as the train journey progressed, but the CCTV seems to show that it's not very busy when he joins the train. Surely this just shows that regardless of the politician or their ideology, they are all open to spinning a story - or at the very least allowing their PR teams to do just that. My assessment of him has come about observing him, his actions and what he says.... I've not been told what to think about him! For a start if he had principles he would have backed the EU Leave campaign but he chose to bat for Remain even though that went against his 40 year battle to discredit the EU bureaucracy. His stance on not wanting to press the Nuclear button, his appearance.... this PMQ's faux pas.... I just look at the scruffy tw@t, listen to what he has to say and either cringe or laugh. He is not a credible candidate for Prime Minister!

As JE has suggested, when the public are polled on his stated policies (anonymously) they are almost universally popular. His views are widely shared amongst the public. He struggles with his persona and his media perception. But there's nothing about his political views that make him necessarily unelectable (the closest is probably his views on defense and nuclear weapons).
