Another package has been found at East Croydon. Goerge Street has been completely shut off, and we've been advised to move from the windows.

I think this is a case of people getting scared by events in central London, but it's obviously something that must be taken very seriously. Let's hope it's just a false alarm.

Not being funny, but why would there be any terrorist interest in Croydon? It sounds more like scare-mongering to me.

Sky news have just said something about the Polish embassy being one of the targets? Can anyone please confirm?

Doesn't look as though any of the explosions have been particularly near the Polish Embassy in Portland Place

Thank you Statto, my cousin works there so I had slight cause for concern. It seems that the reports of 7 initial attacks are only in fact 4.
Thanks once again.

There's been alot of activity in Croydon from about 11. There's already been a controlled explosion apparently.

Croydon is one of the main stations that links the coast to London.

If they shut the station down then nobody can get in or out of town.

Seven explosions, four sites:

"12.51 - Scotland Yard confirmed that seven explosions have been reported in four sites. The first site is around Russell Square and Kings Cross Underground stations. The second is the area including Moorgate, Aldgate, and Liverpool Street Underground station. The third is Edgware Road Underground and the fourth is Tavistock Square, where a bus was ripped apart by a blast."

I think that fear and paranoia levels will hit a peak over this - the merest suspect package, lost handbag etc. will cause a majot scare, which, I guess, is something that the terrorists wanted. The fear and confusion created after the event is another facet of the attack itself.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

That makes no sense. They'd have hit Clapham Junction too then.

As Danny Butterfield wheeled away, arms aloft in celebration of his third goal – an expression of delight and astonishment on his face – a man seated beside me in the stands turned to his young son and told him that he would remember this moment for the rest of his life. I will too.

Just been on Sky that the Rail people are trying to keep the rail network open so that people can get home. They will only close a station if there is a specific threat to check out. They hope to use the suburban platforms at Kings Cross -- although emergency services are using the station at the moment.

Nothing on that at all. I think it's just rumours.
