Right, i havent posted on here yet but this is my opinion. I think that Colonel Gaddafi is a dirty terrorist who needs to be locked up and shot (or just put in Brighton). Basically i dont like the man. If he buys us then pretty much every club in the world will hate us and especially Brighton & Millwall will have a field day. We will all be constantly called terrorists. However. This whole speculation could only be speculation. This could work to Jordans advantage. He could be advertising the club or hoping that someone else comes in and puts a better offer in to outbid Gaddafi and basically save the world (well not quite the world, but you know what i mean). This would be a good thing. However... If Gaddafi is going to buy us then there are a few positives (School of optimism) we can take from it. Number one. He is so so god damn rich. Yes it maybe dirty money but we really wont have the choice at this point. Number two. If, and its a big if, he stays away from England and the club and all he does is plough money into us and gets someone else to run the club for him then its possible that this could be ok. I mean its not like the moneys going into WMD's is it, or terrorism. The worst case scenario is that Jordan sells the whole lot to him. He moves to south norwood and him & his son take full control. They kill anyone who plays/works badly and all the money that comes into the club gets taken straight out and put into terrorism. Instead of stewards they have the Libyan army all armed with AJ47's (i like that pun whoever made it) and anyone who gets out of line in the crowd they shoot them (or kidnap them). You need to think of, what the worst case situation is and whether its really likely to happen. I dont think it is. I think that the good thing that i suggested will happen. Look at Juventus. He gives them money every year and completely stays away from them. This is only my point of view. E Edited by ElliottHutchins (17 Jul 2004 6:11pm)

I dont dis-respect you as a person, but maybe say that to open your eyes too the bigger picture, people (well most) hold morals of much higher valve than money, and if we had loads of money but no one liked us or no player would play for us out of morals, whats the point in having that money? If it did happen im sure Dowie would leave too.

I agree lydder some people on here are saying that we would attract excellent palyers. I don't think they would want to work for a terrorist.

Any ideas how much he's alledgely worth? I can't seem to find anything substancial on him. He managed to pacify the Italians somehow so I guess he'd use that tactic should he buy us, Like some kind of f***ing 'peace offering'. I think elliot made several good points. SJ has SERIOUSLY raised the profile of his desire to sell up now with his "Look everyone I'm gonna sell to this madman if you don't get in quiiiiick"! What happened to small boys, jumpers for goal posts eh? hmm?
MKEM Number #2 Do u know what Nemesis means? A rightous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. In this case personified by an 'orrible Kant, ME! |

I don't know if anyone else feels like I do, but having heard about this for the first time about five hours ago, and now having had a chance to reflect, this is what I feel. That I am about to lose an important part of my life, as if it goes ahead, there's no way I could continue to be a Palace supporter. And I feel sick in my stomach about this, and have felt like that for a few hours. Some of you say that it won't happen, but there's also a chance that it will. Unfortunately money talks. I would be really interested, too, to hear what some of our female members have to say about this. In particular the Rachels, Becky and Bexter. I am not trying to argue against those who feel differently. At the end of the day, everyone must make their own minds up, but I am just expressing how I feel. A very sad day over here in Bolivia. I feel exactly the same gambasbo i have been thinking about it all day and am very concerned. The club WOULD lose alot of faithful supporters who have stuck by palace through thick and thin. This i know WOULD be the last straw for alot of palace fans like my dad who has also given them alot of money in the past. I myself would continue to watch them as being only 16 and basically i would feel alot would be taken out of my life. I have always watched palace with my dad though so that is the sad part. Anyway lets hope it is all speculation and there is nothing to worry about hey?
