Perhaps, because Luton wacked Brighton 4-0 Roy thought it was going to be easy for us yesterday. So, Roy got complacent with his starting line-up. Same management thinking we are in no hurry for a new manager and players as we are safe with Everton and Forest getting points deducted. I'd be surprised. Most would expect the opposite and a reaction.

The Chelsea game could get very ugly if someone new has not been brought in. I suspect Hodgson will do himself no favours with his pre-game presser and team selection. He's as stubborn as a mule and just as uncreative Whoever sells "Hopeless Hodgson" and "Pathetic Parish" placards will make a killing

The focus now needs to be on how we set up to get results without Olise and Eze.

After yesterday's debacle I must admit that I thought it was likely that Parish would tell Roy to go. However, I read somewhere after the Arsenal thrashing that Parish met Roy to say things had to improve and I think I recall a reference to the next three games being critical, namely Sheff Utd, Brighton and Chelsea. None of us knows what was agreed in that conversation but I suspect that Parish told Roy he wanted to see at least 4 points from those three games. The win against Sheff Utd bought Roy some reprieve, even if our play was far from satisfactory. So the fact that nothing has been announced yet, leads me to believe that Parish is waiting to see what happens in the Chelsea match. A draw or better and I imagine he stays, whereas a loss and particularly if it is another poor performance and Roy goes.

Has anyone got to the bottom of why we sacked Viera? He had us playing possession-based, pressing, attacking football for all of half-a-season, then some things happen an that all goes to sh*te? Was it all because Wilf was set to go and Gallagher was only on loan? I never knew what the post mortem was?! If Roy is relieved of duties, who have we got to come in - needing an immediate impact? I would suggest our trigger happy approach with managers has many prospects quite wary or only planning on coming to SE25 for a couple of seasons and enjoy the severance. We can't compete with Top 6. Top 10 finish is good result for us. But above all else a handful of stylish wins a season is what I would mandate as a benchmark. Who will take up the challenge? Goodbye Uncle Woy

I think my biggest takeaway from the fiasco yesterday is the Olise injury! I understand what was said by the medical team and player himself about potential to play some part in the game if needed but 0-3 at half tine was NOT that occasion! Game lost and everyone in the stadium knew it! It was irresponsible to the club and player himself to take that risk for no gain whatsoever! He then swept it under the carpet similar to the end of the Brentford game as a “what can I do if he picks up.an injury” moment! Answer “everything” Firstly Schlupp should never be on the team sheet, secondly Franca was more than capable to give 45 mins of football to and lastly Roy’s mind should have been focused on the next game and keeping Olise fit to start that one as this was lost! Shocking management from me!

If we get relegated there can be no complaints. We actually deserve to be relegated. Shambolic mess from top to bottom.

Roy has managed to do what no other Palace manager has in the last 45 years, make me not care. This is the worst thing any manager can do. This is exactly how I have felt this season. Not just Roy’s fault but the whole club. It is so depressing I can’t bare it.

I concur. I think it's worth asking the question not what is Roy doing wrong but what is he doing right? I no longer see anything that he is doing right. His big strength was always getting the team organised and hard to beat, but that has gone right out the window. Even ignoring the tactics, the performances and the team selections, how must it feel for the rest of the squad that Roy basically tells them every time they don't win that they are not good enough? Maybe they lack belief because Roy keeps telling them only a few players are up to the task. He is failing badly and he probably knows it's his last job given how things have gone. A few stragglers are still trying to support him, but there is no evidence left to suggest that's a good idea and it basically seems built on the premise of 'is there anyone better' to takeover. At this point you start to wonder if there's anyone worse. Indeed TL. Can we blame Roy for everything? At the very least I think it’s unfair to do so.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

He doesn't know how best to use the resources at his disposal. Hence, the clamour for him to be relieved of his duties.
