More rubbish, Edouard and Mateta are Poor CFs, you have to move a bit, make some runs, in a midfield of Ayew/Franca, Eze and Olise he would get 20+ goals, undoutably, E & M about 10/12 More rubbish. Eketiah plays for Arsenal with their superior side and has worse figures than Edouard. Believe me, he'll do no better than Edouard or Mateta, and you want to part exchange him for one of our top players? Clueless.

Hopefully Parish has had a visit from Jacob Marley over the Christmas break. We can all see the squad is not good enough and that we have failed year on year to invest in players when/where they are really needed. But to expect to be saved by a January spree ignores the basic issue which has and will continue to dictate our every action. We have no money. We continue to 'wing it,' as we have an ownership structure with Parish who is out of his depth running a club owned by three Americans who do not seem to agree on spending or direction Add to that an elderly manager so set in his ways that we could buy the best young player in his position in the world and he would still play Jeff Schlup. We will need to drop into the zone for the owners to panic, we will then fail to land our first few choice of manager (due to no money,) then still go down.

With the greatest of respect I do not subscribe to this opinion one iota. Steve Parish has been at the helm for nigh on 14 years, during which time we have reached an FA Cup final, got promoted back to the PL and this is now our 11th consecutive season at the pinnacle of English football. He has faced challenges of course and perfection is not in the human gift. I have always found Steve to be a gentleman of articulacy and personal charm and one who possesses intellectual acuity. Edited by Willo (27 Dec 2023 9.34am)

Fair enough but we had money to spend last window (Ekitike and loan fee for Hall, so about £30m) and were unable to get either deal over the line. I think they will put their hands in their pockets this January but I doubt they will address more than one or two holes in the squad. It’s fire fighting 101 for Palace, but we should be used to it. What I hate the most is that we lost our best player and didn’t even attempt to replace him with a suitable winger when we knew we could get Semenyo, Elanga, Hudson Odoi, all at very reasonable prices.we are desperately missing a proper, tricky left winger.

I actually (mostly) agree, what I attempted to say was that the current situation has evolved with the changes in ownership and time. We now have a current structure that simply does not work and Parish cannot control it and equally we have no money I also think the whole rebuild debacle is being led as a vanity project and lay this as another issue adding to our current problems Edited by Willo (27 Dec 2023 9.34am)

I back my opinion, i think Nketiah is THE best English's forward, he is AJ, like Mayoral and Wilson, your opinions always seem a bit disjointed.

The problems with Mr Parish are that, With the greatest of respect I totally disagree with your negative comments in relation to our esteemed Chairman. The Steve Parish that I know certainly does not embrace mediocrity at all and has to work within financial parameters. He is a focused, estimable and ambitious gentleman who works tirelessly for the betterment of the club.
