Textor seems to have resources and knows people that do. The club was better than mid table last year, we were just unfortunate in some early matches. The back line and goalkeeping are good enough to keep us up. We need to liberate Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. Gallagher will cost too much, Ruben is big and hard to move off the ball. He had a much more forward thinking presence during his brief stay at Fulham. He’s several years removed from the ACL. Doucoure as holding mid, Loftus-Cheek as attacking… I’d welcome that option right now.
Leeds also has some American mid field players that came for Jesse March but will be looking elsewhere after this season. I can’t make a match this year but I promised my son we will be there next April grabbing a pint at The Clifton Arms and sitting in the AW. I don’t want it to be against QPR or Milwall.

I’d be very surprised if the safety net is 34-37 points. I’d be more inclined towards 37-40.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It really will show the world what a s*** show of a circus we are if Hodgson comes back. From the most boring style of football to the most clueless and then back to the most boring would really prove that there is absolutely no ambition at this club. I mean we can't score goals so let's go and get Hodgson in? How does that make sense? We're not getting battered we just can't attack and anyone who thinks Hodgson is the man to change that needs to go and watch our boring dire games again from when he was here. He might tighten up a leaky defence but he's incapable of getting a team to play attacking football and scoring goals. It would be criminal and a joke.

1/4 ON now for Hodgson.

How utterly desperate have we become to kick start us going forward we bring back Roy Hodgson.

12% possession here we come!

Have you not noticed how bad we have been under PV. Roy’s football will be an improvement on that garbage.

How did he do with Watford?

1. We’re not Watford.
2. We’re 12th.
3. We have a 3 point cushion between us and the relegation zone.
4. We have the best run in of anyone.
5. Roy kept a far weaker squad of ours up for 4 years without any danger of relegation.
6. We are not going down under Roy. That is all that matters as of today.

Usual hysteria baked in quite astonishing abuse for our most successful top flight manager in history - but Roy makes complete sense.

The only thing that matters this season is staying up, now. There is no one better equipped to ensure that for us than Roy. Couple of months, keeps us up, we thank him again and the we regroup in the summer for the next "project manager".

I cannot for the life of me understand the objection. But what is worse is the absolutely astonishing abuse and vitriol people will throw at a guy who did as much for this club as he has.

Yes I agree. For some reason Hodgson is vastly underrated. It makes a lot of sense to give him an eighteen month contract. He knows Palace, he knows the players, and he knows how to get the best out of limited resources. What's not to like?

We will stay up if it's under hodgson or whoever. Vierra should've been given more time & what an opportunity missed but will we ever learn ? Just make sure next season we have a plan Mr parish & co ....

You need to stop being so bothered about what the "footballing world" thinks about us. They don’t watch us play, they don’t have a clue what is going on.

All that matters is survival. Then we get to summer and we go again with a better manager than Vieira (hopefully).

Not Hodgson !!!!!

Does the club not remember the dire football under him.

Remember his astonishing run of consecutive defeats ?

Plus his failed attempt to save Watford.

Surely the American owners would not sanction this ? I suspect this is Parish.

The lack of striker signings gets thrown around a lot - Have any of the sides currently in the bottom 10 got a striker that is doing well at PL level? In fact, I'd argue there's only Toney, Ings (ish), Watkins and Mitrovic outside of the top 6. West Ham, Leeds, Wolves and others with £30m+ strikers not doing anything of note.

Sides get in the upper parts of the league by creating and taking chances as a collective. Hopefully we'll see the team push higher up the pitch and see Olise, Zaha, Eze start chipping in again.

Would that be the Watkins we could have signed but Dougie was convinced if we waited he would be cheaper? Yeh great decision

Roy's last 11 games in charge included 7 defeats, 1 draw and 3 wins (two of which were against relegated teams). We were absolutely awful in his final season and unbearable to watch and everyone was questioning his tactics, his team selections and his baffling subs. He looked completely lost at times like he was losing his marbles. He was then sh!t at Watford. His talent is making teams hard to beat, which we kind of already are. I can't see him lifting the morale and if we went down many of us would blame him, because really we shouldn't go down with the remaining fixtures we have. I'd genuinely rather risk letting Paddy have a shot until the end of the season than have Roy back.
