Interesting to note the body language on the touchline, slightly defensive, hunched over, certainly nothing celebratory or exhortative. And the post match interviews, the repetitions, the general downer demeanour.

Our game against Fulham fell apart because James Tompkins was back from injury, with no recent game time under his belt having to fill in for Marc Guehi who was out on suspension - JT had easily the worst game I have seen him play since time began-

I’m torn on Vieira. People point to squad deficiencies as a reason for our struggles, but are our players any worse than those in the above teams?

I’m not sure what everyone expected from PV, wasn’t he our third or fourth choice of manager? I think he’s showing why if I’m honest.

I think PV is good for the younger lads and has obviously bought into footballing ideologies he was privy to however I am starting to question whether he is really 'cut out' for it? Motivation, game management, tactical nous, winning mentality, etc. etc. are all things good let alone great managers have. PV seems able to attract players, make the younger lads feel at home and has some nice footballing ideals however I feel is lacking in a few key areas which make us look a soft and fragile touch atm. Some small elements of management, which could be considered as basic, just seem absent and it is holding us back if not costing us dear. PV seems more suited to part of a coaching team as opposed to the leader of one. Just an observation and opinion from me of course.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know the guy comes across as a bit unassuming. But I struggle to believe that he doesn't have any fight or leadership skills. You cant play like he did and then turn into a melt of a manager

We all knew this run of fixtures was unlikely to yield a significant amount of points, but as it is we possibly have one or two points more than expected. Against Brentford we were on a par with them performance wise, which I think indicates when we do start playing the teams below us we'll start picking up wins again, as most of them are not as organised as the Bees. I think we also have a solid spine now with Guehi, Andersen, Doucoure and Lokonga/Hughes. This should mean when we do come up against teams around our level the likes of Olise, Eze and Wilf should have more opportunities to venture forward. On a positive note, I saw a stat yesterday that Olise has more assists in the last two seasons than any other player aged under 21 in Europe's top leagues.

Particularly impressive given that most of his crosses have ended up in headers or shots into row Z
