Devastating news. Just when it looked like he might be on the up.

Very sad but it’s time for him to consider a new career and we need to help with his adjustment to life outside football. Everybody needs to move on.

Why? Is he 12 years old, retarded or something?

What a blow. Can really see us struggling without Ferguson tomorrow night. As his football career winds down he could always collect trolleys in the Asda car park. Would phone in sick on his second day having tweaked his thigh muscle. Makes Wickham look dependable.

The guy is made of glass unfortunately. Time to call it a day if it’s another hamstring injury.

Best for him to start coaching badges if he wants a career in football going forward, wish him well

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Yep…and he’s injured, again!

He’s made one twenty minute substitute appearance for the first team in almost 3 years!

He cannot sustain a level where he remains injury free for long enough to gain proper match fitness. He breaks down virtually as soon as he starts to make a comeback. This is a recurring theme and he has missed far too much of what should’ve been his prime development stage. Sadly, I don’t think he will ever complete a full 90 minutes for the first team.

I posted this six months ago (08/04/23) after his last supposed ‘comeback’.

My thoughts haven’t changed. In fact I think he will be lucky to ever make another appearance for our first team now, let alone play a full 90 minutes.

Without wishing to sound too cynical, we picked up an injured player, and after a failure to recover fully, and followed by more injuries of varying severity, for some reason the club retained his services, perhaps in the vague hope he would one day recover, only to have him injured again. Something is telling me that he is not cut out for professional football, despite the initial promise and the faith the club had in him to regain full fitness initially.

If he can get injured in a game with Monaco development team, which I doubt the standard and physicality is that much, what chance has he playing in the Premier regularly?
He is unfortunate, we have supported him for over 3 years, surely a decision needs to be made, it’s just not going to work out. He is set up for life with the wages we have paid him, time to move on.

Does anyone know anything about player insurance? Could that be a reason his contract was extended if there are certain stipulations?

Extremely frustrating, for him and the club. This can’t continue, think both parties need to make a decision. Even if he were to get up to match fitness he’s only one stretch or sprint away from another injury.

Very sorry for the lad, but we’re not a charity

Do we know when the injury occurred? He didn't go off in the game

Anyways, Ward can put his voodoo needles away again

We all know what's going to happen don't we? We'll eventually release him, rightly saying "enough is enough", then he'll go on to be a 'worldy' somewhere else, playing blinders whenever he faces the Palace. YOU KNOW THIS!!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
