His lies were bigger than the other guy.

What a lot of steaming horse doo.

Correct!
The fool also sold our gold because Mr Blair was running out of money rather quickly!
Sold @ £288/oz - today's value is over 6 times higher than that.
I accept that hindsight is easy but that was really stupid - typical short term government thinking!

As was the sale of public sector buildings, land and the introduction of PFI. All short term moves to paper over cracks that is now costing us dearly.

To be fair selling Government land and buildings is nothing new and not a Labour issue exclusively.
The Tories have been doing it for years as well because none of them can ever balance their books.
The bad part about it is that they never sell for real commercial prices either - always on the cheap.

Browns sale was just housekeeping he cut our debts with it and avoided paying out unnecessary interest.

It's quite legitimate for Chancellors to buy and sell according to the economy.

Holding gold makes people feel more secure but its pretty useless stuff.

What about PFI.
The tories started it granted but by f*** did Labour screw that up. Absolutely no due diligence to the long term cost and that was also to balance the books. Present issues if you include c19 are not a patch on their incompetence.

Gold is even more useless than HR Departments.

I tried taking a bar of gold to the last home game and I couldn't buy a pie.

It is now worth near 6 times as much if we wanted to sell it today which would be a good thing.
So nearer £20m today than £3.something million back then.
Defending the indefensible is a great thing!

Nail accidentally on head. He won the election by a landslide for a number of reasons, but I suspect it was mainly public exhaustion with Brexit (another effective 3-word strapline to dumb Britain) and because the opposition was led by a throwback commie.

Those factors are no longer present and his currency has run out. They need another avuncular, electable puppet who will sit in front of a camera and read from an autocue.

It's nice to see the word 'avuncular' getting let out for a stroll, haven't seen it for a while.

More revelations on Boris’ partying. I wonder if he knew his birthday party was a party?

He’s mugged you all off again.

Vive le Roy!

Can a Russia/Ukraine war really save Boris ? He's like a limpet that is going to have to be torched off No.10. His own party are now outing him,...I wonder how much longer he's going to hang on for. ?

I disengage, I turn the page.

Not taking a side here but is not the loss 9n gold measured in £10millions. Lots, but drop in ocean on government scale.

However did not the tories not sell off vast public assets for a criminal undervalue?

Still doesn't stop the tory press from constantly beating brown with that same tired old etick. Like Livingstone and the £40k housebrick art work.
