We have a difficult game tonight against a well-oiled, dangerous and - above all - motivated side.
It is by no means a forgone conclusion that we will win this.

Too many people are looking at Denmark, pundits, fans et al, and surmising that we'll win easy.
That's route 1 to having egg (and Danish bacon) on our Faces.
Lets just hope the English Team are fully focused on this evening.

Yeah, we do have the habit of doing that after a couple of good results. Still, fingers crossed for the team tonight. Would be amazing to make the final.

joe schmo - the man in the street is looking at the finals.
However I think Southgate & the squad are focused on tonights issue.
we have patchy form vs Denmark, so I really doubt we'll under estimate.
2 fairly evenly matched sides
(on paper we have the edge but..)

I actually fancy us more against Italy than Denmark.

Anyway Saka will be playing England have some depth, imagine Sandro could appear later.

There is that habit, you are right. England have on this occasion had five good results though.

True, I don't like to get my hopes up as I feel that sets me up for disappoint . But I'll be cheering them on all the way. Please Saka looks set to start against Denmark too, he's been very impressive.

I would hope you are correct. but it doesn't take much, a few directed questions in an interview, to plant that in a players head, and for him to lose a little focus.

It's for GS to Manage, and to be Fair to him and the squad, there is little evidence that that has happened.

Problem is the Fans(and the media) - this is the arrogance that the rest of the world see and is often levelled at us.

"It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"

I did preface my point with "Should England get through" something of which I'm by no means certain.

I think tonight will be our toughest opponents so far. The Danes have momentum and some of their football has been sublime. Most of their players are technically gifted. Plus they've had the life-re-evaluating moment from the opening game, which takes away all of the bullsh1t pressure some teams succumb to.

That said, the preparation from GS had been meticulous and they team have executed every game plan excellently (save for the underwhelming Scotland game). If we do that again then we win and score a couple of goals. But this is football and anything can happen.

In may well be. In an 'ideal' scenario we'd manage to put a couple past them early doors then be more relaxed in our way. When we get tentative it all tends to go pair shaped. I've no idea how it will go really, but am leaning towards believing that we might make the final!

I suppose the game could go to penalties.
Some chap informs me that Schmeichel has saved about 1 in 4 penalties he has faced in his career but at this time I cannot vouch for the veracity of this statistic.
