This post has been merged from a topic called 'Signings Are Coming' by Midlands Eagle Shouldn't McCarthy be a loan with option to buy? He's not played for 18 months. And Jenkinson? Surely an over-paid full back that's at best average. He's not going to drop Arsenal wages to come here, and yet is less talented than Wan Bissaka who was probably on a low wage. Nostalgia dictates Clyne is great, but is he these days? A Liverpool wage won't be cheap, and I'm sure there will be equal/better, younger options out there if we actually hired people who looked into these things. Let's hope the striker, winger, CB options are more inspiring. For the first time since Holloway I'm slightly worried about this season. If Zaha goes we are f***ed. And he wants to go. And if we get £60m for him (which would seem fair for all concerned), have we any idea how to spend it? I fear we don't.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Signings Are Coming' by Midlands Eagle You sometimes wonder what goes on in the minds of Parish and Hodgson, they would be better off asking the fans who we should buy, as most of us have more idea than they do. McCarthy, bid 8 Million, not played a first team game since double break of right leg.
Perhaps Parish and Hodgson should come on this platform and ask our advice..

One of the most perceptive and sensible opinions on this subject as yet and they are very rare.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Signings Are Coming' by Midlands Eagle Those names have been on SP list for many years I remember many seasons ago we tried to get them with the deals failing last minute the same with ayew who we now have signed. this just shows again how poor the club is run using shopping lists from years ago so much for looking for new players. Mccarthy is no way worth that much his contract expires end of the season plus he has not really featured due to injuries and not being good enough to get in team. jenkinson is awful player he has had many loans and failed at all of them hes mentally weak

Originally posted by dazza Unfortunately there are times supposed transfers don’t happen does not mean I am wrong just a number of things that happen during transfers. Also been told but this is nothing new that we are also in talks/interested in the following: Maupay Not all these will happen but expect at least 1 or 2 of these also if we sell Zaha the n Bit more positive with some of those names. Imo I would only offer a loan for Clyne as the investment should be looking long term but that doesn't need to be in this window but obviously we need to strengthen at RB. I'd take Reece James on loan as well which should be at little cost as we'd be doing Chelsea a favour as he'll still be in recovery for the next few months. Morelos a big yes from me. A bullish striker who'll hassle defenders and show the rest of our strikers where the back of the net is. Mooy over McCarthy every day of the week. Would be a much for beneficial investment for so many reasons. And Allan Saint-Maximin I really think we should invest in before Zaha one day eventually leaves. That way the transition will be a lot smoother. Not to mention the fact that having them in the same team would be an exciting proposition. This post has been merged from a topic called 'Signings Are Coming' by Midlands Eagle I’m praying that McCarthy and Jenkinson are smokescreens. They have to be two of the most unambitious signings we could ever make. Mooy would be class and I don’t know why we haven’t been linked to him before. A striker is needed as well as a winger so I don’t get why we don’t have Saint-Maximin in the same team as Zaha unless it’s a price issue. Either way those striker names are promising. I think we have to be smart with our two loan spots this year and try and get another RLC level of player in.

Will you retract if this proves to be true? Dazza is a good poster and I always await his posts with interest unlike yours Of course I will. I’m just finding he whole transfer thing soooo frustrating.

Why are bringing in Jenkinson as back up to Ward. He's probably on a higher wage than Ward. Mooy should be considered before McCarthy as he might cost more but his wage will be lower and he's played premiership football for the last two years.

Assuming this thread is for ALL transfer rubbish, here's a little gem I found:-
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
