That is of course one point of view. Another would be that as champ he should be making at least the same as his his opponent.

Personally I think he’s doing the correct thing for himself. Right now AJ needs him as much as he needs AJ.

Pretty sure this will all get signed once the percentages have been renegotiated.

Ok, but we differ, I think you get paid what you can negotiate.

Having the belts increases his pay day but he isn't the main attraction Joshua is. Ruiz hasn't earned that level of pay day....that requires more than one fight. I would say to Hearn don't disfigure the market place....and if he acts the tart too much get in the ear of the bodies.

I think it'll still happen. The purse disparity is a bit more than I'd have thought, but ultimately getting $9million for a high profile fight against somebody you've already beaten and stand a good of beating again isn't a bad days work.

I suppose you could also argue that AJ has also not earned that size of payday, you don’t usually receive your biggest ever pay-packet whilst coming off a loss.

I know how this business works though. I think Dave sums it up in his post above when he mentions his surprise at the disparity in purses.

Hopefully will all be sorted soon so us fans can have this to look forward to.

For sure....the level of purse is ridiculous, especially Joshua's.

December p1sses me off.....fighters fighting twice a year are prima donnas.....though I suppose we only have ourselves to blame.

Also looks like AJ has slimmed right down from his weight at his last fight...maybe he's realsed he was truning into another muscle bound british heavyweight at the expense of speed and technique.

Couldn’t have put it better myself.

He’s still a unit even when slimmed down but should now be quicker and more mobile.

I think whilst he continued to win many of his flaws were not really noticed.

I like AJ and wish him well but I find his fights fairly boring.

Sounds typically like Eddie Hearns? He'll claim very soon that Ruiz is being unreasonable & then ask the authorities to strip Ruiz of his belts.
