The state of the pitch (compared to what we are used to playing on) also could well have been a contributing factor. Very long and rather tufty looking grass, rather than the bowling green finish of SP & other Prem grounds does not bode well for a push and run style.

That’s kind of you to post that, we had a great day ( not just the result) but you have great facilities and modern ground the turnstile operators and stewards were really friendly and like you say no trouble, I would be surprised if anyone was arrested on the day.

Cheers Roversdude. Can add that an old boy in the home section made a big point of clapping us at the end of the game. Not many would do that so it makes me proud to be Palace. Oddest shout of the day though came from home fans as we walked back through the industrial estate, taunting us with comments about going back to our bedsits!
