Was it that much of a riot? I heard 31 arrests with 15 being England fans. Presumed it was a bit of a pub brawl. My point is that a few moronic 'monkey chants' are treated as being more serious than physical violence.

Rest easy people, 4 fans have been fined & banned(by the police, NOT by the courts), 1000 Bulgarian Lev(£443) & 2 years. 3 other fans were let go, 1 was a minor. Source BBC Sports. No word from UEFA, Funny that.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Of course the racism in Bulgaria was deplorable, but the coverage is as if our black players were lynched. Contrast with the coverage of our England 'fans' rioting in Prague. Yes, it's apples and oranges, but still, people don't attend a football match to humour c***s doing nazi salutes and monkey chants, so the response to it was deserved. Thing is regarding racism alot of non black people don't get it. We were slaves way back when and called all soughts. Racism is on the increase and the goalkeeper who was abused playing for Harringay who was spat at and had objects thrown at him was disgusting. I applaude the whole of the Harringay team walking off.

This was always going to happen with the widespread, 24 hour blanket coverage of not many other sporting matters midweek apart from Bulgaria v England, and that was leading up to it and afterwards. It went on far too long. Similar happened after Ian Wright’s excellent 2 part documentary on ‘80s football racism. The next weekend someone threw a banana at a player because the John Barnes photo of him flicking the banana away was on the programme. All of this is behaviour is abhorrent and I think it might’ve been hrolf who said it’s moronic to abuse people for something they’re born with. If it’s something they’ve done then within reason and what it is then fair enough. The non stop coverage of this doesn’t take into account that morons didn’t stop being born and never will stop being born in a free society and so this type of copycat behaviour from morons will always go on. I’m not saying don’t cover it but too much has been made of and covered on a country with hardly any brown or black faces and 1-2 generations behind in anything you like really. It’s no surprise that Bulgaria or Yeovil happened but it’s also keeping the news coverage going and some other morons elsewhere to copy them because they know it gets coverage. Again, im not saying don’t cover it, but just not for 5-10 days solid, everywhere. Maybe then there’ll be no copycat incidents and we’ll return to just the very rare incident and they’ll be dealt with.

In 10+ years, I've never actually heard anything racist around the town or on the (few I admit) visits to YTFC ground. Find this quite surprising from them.

We? 'We' were also slaves way back when along with just about every other race at some point. Some still are. What is your point? Do you think other 'races' are immune to insults?

It’s copycat behaviour from some morons at football. Not the first or last.
