Well they just turned over Soton who have only beaten a single solitary team this year....guess who. On paper we are miles better but football is played on grass. Braunston you have to get real and drop this “we should be happy to be here” stuff. All these seasons in the prem and Brighton have progressed more in 2 years than us, it’s embarrassing. Every year it’s a relegation scrap and that is not good enough anymore after all of this time and all of these managers. True but 1 shot on target against Burnley today!

I think Roy the gentleman is to old. Time to hang up your tracksuit. To stubborn in his substitutions. We need a younger coach. Unfortunately I think you might be right. Didn't show much interest on the sidelines today. I think my biggest gripe is his insistence of bringing on Puncheon, wtf does he bring?

I see we have bought the land opposite the Training ground for our academy. Does this mean we will be upgrading the academy status to PL standard? I hope so it's a bit embarrassing that Millwall's academy is rated higher than ours.
A bit like the grand plans for S P Stadium (That's Steve Parish not Selhurst Park.) We can build Castles but the Empire will fall unless we have the troops to defend it.

Although he has no striker at his mercy! Think he will be gone after Leicester game if we don’t pick up 3 points .

But we all know that blind faith will again kick in & the urge to sack the manager will be put to one side on account of the managers previous association with the club getting them a further 6 / 12 months past their sell by date. FFS, even Warnocks managed to get Cardiff above us now.

Does it not boil down to how much (more) money the owners are prepared to invest in preserving our perpetually tenuous survival at this level? If so, then they surely do all of the other stakeholders - not least, the back room boys and girls, but also we long-serving Masochists (in my case, of 50 years' standing) - a disservice, to put it mildly, if they don't acquire some striker-specific class in the January window. Personally, I don't care if it's close to its sell-by, or even, hang-up-its-boots-by, date (which intuitively wouldn't break the bank). Just show me, and more importantly, our opposition, some viable options to keep both us entertained, and them guessing.

I have that terrible feeling in my stomach as well. Think he will come in like Paul Hart, see how he fairs then somebody else but that is risky due to time issues.

He ‘retired’ as soon as he’d redeemed his reputation after England and his mates in the media were talking to him again. He’d already been backed in January & got who he wanted (despite us having to overpay) & had said he would love to get Mama on a permanent - we did this despite him walking out. His resignation happened at the initial meeting to discuss transfers & the new season (by his admission) before any any such discussion even started. We believed what he said, paid a bonus based on him stating he wouldn’t be returning to club football & moved on. Turns out he was full of s*** but at least it meant We were due the £2m bonus back. Everyone knew the financial situation, Parish had been saying in interviews that we wouldn't have much money to spend when it was clear we needed 8 or so players. Parish buying Sakho was a desperate act because we hadn't signed anyone only for him to claim he did so because all the fans wanted him. Not true. I and a few others wanted the money spent on 2 or 3 players we needed rather than one ego signing from a club holding us to ransom. Even FdB didn't want to sign Sakho.

The two points that I would make are firstly that all the talk on here was that he resigned as the wife of a friend had been killed in the Manchester Arena attack the night before and when I suggested that I didn't think that was the reason I was shouted down for being unsympathetic and other things. Secondly he hinted very recently on TV that there were issues between him and Parish but he didn't elaborate I agree with your first point and was also shouted down. Some people just believe the b/s put out when part of Sam's pay off was a non-disclosure clause so he couldn't say anything negative unless he didn't want the money he received.
