All this stuff gets stirred up by the Media. Marcus Rashford just reported on SKY saying that the country has never been more divided . Really? He should have been around in the 70s when the NF were Doing their stuff. Honestly I don’t know why the media give these idiots platforms if they just spew nonsense which helps no one.

The more I think about this the more ridiculous the response from the politicians. Law and order is a local matter if the police are racist and or brutal it is a matter for local politicians to sort out. Yet many of those same politicians are criticising their own police and Trump ignoring that they are politically responsible. It would be like Mayor Khan complaining about the TFL management and why isn't the government doing something about it. The constitution is quite clear about where power resides and this is a matter for the state and the local levels below that. What is shameful is that the many of worst hit places have been Democratic strongholds for generations so the fault lies with them it's not as though they can blame the other party. I like America but I am glad we have our form of government and taxation for all it's shortcomings. Nail on head people want to blame a Republican president for the issues in Democrat cities when the stats show Republican cities are far safer and policed better and to top it all off they want the Republican safely run cities to vote Democrat and put in a Democrat president and think this is a positive change it's absolutely bonkers.

Out of interest, do you think it's fair to critique a state leader if they turn the military on their own citizens? What if they allow a lethal virus to to spread through their population, potentially killing millions, and decide to do nothing about it? At what point does asking whether they have the best interests of their people at heart become legitimate?

Yep, and once there he quickly became disillusioned with the anti fascist movement. Thankfully he wrote it all down so that people like you can't wiggle away from his criticisms. I'd say that Orwell was an ethnically minded socialist....old school, not a 'progressive'.

What's your point exactly and when did you see this happen. 1939 I think was the last one. Although he claimed jews were the virus and disposed of some 6 million odd. I dont think we want to go there again but hey whatever floats your boat. Envy is bad. Edited by cryrst (02 Jun 2020 10.24am)

You need to read orwells book mate if you think you've mad a good point your mistaken you've diminished your own arguement in that statement. Who has turned the military on its civilians the national guard are only in Democrat run cities not Republican ones so you should ask the dems that question.

I'd say that Orwell was an ethnically minded socialist....old school, not a 'progressive'. But of course that's not what he wrote. Yes, he expressed his hatred towards Stalinist Communists. But he wrote mainly of his admiration for the anarchists, who controlled Barcelona at the time and were foremost in fighting Franco's fascists. Orwell was a Socialist with Anarchist sympathies for the rest of his life. Were he alive today to witness Trump supporters trying to portray him as some kind of saint of conservative liberalism, I think he'd probably send himself to Room 101.

He most certainly wouldn't be a fan of Trump, that said he most certainly wouldn't be a fan of the politics you've displayed on here either.

It doesn't matter what badge you wear. It is your deeds that matter. Right now, the Left are completely deluded out of control. The worst irony is that the beliefs that they think they have are being drilled into their brains by the elites. You are their pawns.
