Why is it a load of crap? Is Wilf so unambitious that he wants to stay with a club that's just lost it's other star player and looks set to struggle again for another season. Or is it that Wilf is so in love with Selhurst Park and his adoring public that he will forgo any personal ambitions to play European football. Why when the whole of the footballing world had stopped linking Wilf with every top club has this story suddenly appeared out of nowhere It's fairly obvious to me that your so called "scumbag journalist" got the story from Wilf's agent who wished to put pressure on our board to either pay him a king's ransom or sell him to a top club. It will be interesting to see if Wilf or his entourage issue a denial today. Somehow I doubt it and I also doubt whether Parish will deny the story either
Spot on post. I am of the same opinion that no denial will be issued by any party. Christ Palace find it difficult to announce when players sign a new/extension to their contracts. Bizarre

TBF I think the later decision to invade the Soviet Union was dumber, as was the decision to attack the USA. Saying to the family, on August 5th 1945, "I've got an idea lets all go to Hiroshima for some sight seeing tomorrow" was probably a bit of a bad decision.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf can hold the club to ransom because, let's face it, he is the most entertaining player we have had for decades and is also our key match winner. Although it would likely upset the apple cart, in my view you just pay him what he wants. The games when he was injured showed me what Palace without him would be like, and I didn't like it.
If, and it's a stomach churning if, Wilf asks for a move then I think we have to ask for insane money that would enable us to invest in the ground, the academy and still have 40-50 million to buy a couple of marquee signings. If it's Spurs we add 25% to the figure we wanted as a Levy tax.

Exactly, and I cannot understand for the life of me why more effort was not made to keep Cabye. He will cost a kings ransom to replace like for like. How do you know more effort wasn’t made to keep him? But what do you do? Offer 100k + a week for a 30 something who can’t last 90 minutes, which I bet is around the amount he’s getting in Dubai, or go for a younger replacement who would probably be on what he was on or maybe less? None of us know what’s in the pipeline and no one knows for sure that Zaha has turned down anything. Can’t believe the reaction towards Parish when there’s no facts and none of us know anything about what’s going on behind the scenes.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He's got 4 years left on his contract so if he goes he goes on our terms. £50m+ and a suitable player replacement should do it. Cabaye is passed it, not international class anymore and looking for a lucrative final contract why would we keep him on exhorbitant wages and use him as an impact player. This just says bored journalism, spread a few rumours and see what falls into place.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If this is true, then I despair for the greed of today's players. Zaha's already on about £110k per week - which means he gets more in a day or two than a lot of people get in a year - yet now he wants more. He already has Noades' old mansion with indoor pool etc. Why does he need more money - what is he going to do with it all?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Zaha is probably the single biggest reason Palace are where they are. However, we have to plan for the day when he's no longer here. I'm hoping they are thinking of that now. One thing is certain, we don't want to be selling him when his price has dipped. Unless he's decided to go.....I think we have one more season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle whilst its unlikely,if he has rejected a new contract could it be because he doesnt want/need the extra money?
