Did Steve get proper experienced football architects to do the plans ? C'mon Steve, sort your 5hlt out. Hi Ali, Hope your well,Steve used KSS Architects. Andrew didn’t do it.

Huh? So not firing Pardew soon enough (by several months) allowing all confidence to erode and players like Puncheon and Dann suffer majorly form wise was down to having too much ambition? Not signing a goalkeeper thus leaving us with 1 fit keeper (as Jules immediately got injured) is down to too much ambition? Not signing a striker last time around leaving us with 1 fit striker (who immediately got injured) was down to too much ambition? Not properly addressing glaring squad depth issues like left back before Souare went down was down to too much ambition? Not firing Holloway sooner....hiring Neil Warnock (wtf)....down to too much ambition? Nah mate, these errors are down to Parish being a weak chairman in the context of other men in this league. Very, very poor chairman with poor judgement and poor planning skills. Only someone with a bizarre sense of judgement would laud themselves for signing a goalkeeper 6 months from now, when we desperately need one now. I was referring the attempts to move us to the next level / look upwards playing possession football with Pardew and De Boer which have actually set us back. Holloway walked and we punched way above our weight for two and half years. Safe with games to spare first three seasons. Whilst some of the mistakes you refer to have some relevance they're insignificant by comparison and IMO not really bitten (yet touch wood) aside from our £120k a week £30m marquee signing having competition after losing his shooting boots. BTW almost forgot there's £80k a week marquee signing Yohan Cabaye who can't score. Not forgetting England international Andros Townsend who has managed one goal and highly rated international Loftus-Cheek who has turned out to have injury issues and poor end product. What an absolute load of tosh. Why not being clear on where in your opinion the "progress" is ? Possesion football right? Get away from the long ball? Can't you see we are making up the numbers in the entertainment industry of the PL? You honestly believe careful management from the top takes care of a club our size to sort things out? And the amount of money is relative. the whole of the PL has the ridiclous amount of tv money coming in. quote=Mstrobez;3310661] People who keep banging in about this being our longest spell in the top flight in our history miss the point of threads like this completely. It’s been nothing but scraping survival at all costs. Now, I completely understand that approach in the first few years, but the reason so many of us harp on about progression isn’t because we’re getting too big for our boots, it’s because if we go down we will literally have nothing to show for the 5 years we’ve been here. We’ve come nowhere as a club. The problem with parish is every decision he makes is based on appeasing people short term & hoping he can get a tv appearance portrayed as a footballing guru, but he’s not even very good at achieving that. He normally gets about 3 weeks work a season because the rest of the time he’s back to desperately pulling off some great escape again. Our priorities are completely wrong, and it’s utterly pointless not to target progression with the amount of money you take in as a premier league club. Unless something changes, we’re goinf down anyway. Going down isn’t the worrying part, what worries me more is going down, having not progressed the footballing culture at the club at all meaning that coming back up quickly will be extremely difficult. Being in the premier league for 5 years is great, but we will hugely regret being so short sighted & failing to capitalise on what is a once in a history opportunity. Its totally wild speculation and typical newspaper crap and tells you nothing, thats what. It's a nothing quote. It doesn't tell you anything about what was said, to who, or about who. It just says he was shocked. It could actually mean anything, FDB was crap? Well we know that. He didn't get on with the players? Well there were lots of rumours on here about that. Couldn't believe Parish got rid of him? We all know the reason for that, even Parish admitted it. Does it also mean that Sammy Lee goes around spreading malicious gossip about 'behind the scenes' stuff at other clubs, well that wouldn't be good for his management career if that is true. Finally if, as the Mirror is perhaps trying to suggest, that Koeman is disturbed by the turnover of managers at Palace then he should have a little look closer to home at his own career as a manager. 8 clubs and now sacked in 16 seasons is not what I call a manager who should be appalled by the turnover of managers especially when you consider one of his appointments was 4 seasons long. Now if you think I am completely wrong in my interpretation, then you will have rather answered your own question, as it could mean literally anything, hence my post. My post was in fact supposed to be pretty lighthearted and a little jibe at Willo's "I know" posts, so why did you feel the need to post on behalf of Midlands Eagle. Are you two a tag team? Blimey. I was just answering your question on what his sentence or post meant and youmpost all that. Actually I'll give one answer. Sammy Lee wasn't 'spreading any malicious gossip.' He had dinner with Koeman and as football men and friends, they talked football. It's likely that it was, as usual, in confidence. If this happened, who is Koeman more loyal to? Firstly saving himself, and after that at some point possibly De Boer before Sammy Lee. Therefore any loyalty to Sammy Lee may have gone out of the window when trying to save his own skin. Sammy Lee may not even be that fussed. We don't know if any of what Koeman said happened but his intentions and loyalty to himself is very possible.

Edited by Rachid Rachid Rachid (15 Feb 2018 7.58pm) Insignificant? Totally disagree. Letting us have only 1 fit striker in the premier league was completely reckless and ridiculous to boot. Lo and behold Benteke got injured not long after that p&ss poor decision was made to not sign Niasse/A. N. other. Not replacing Mandanda is such a glaring mistake that it is literally costing us points per season, which we cannot afford. Listening to Hodgson harp on about the pressing need to sign a goalie, messing around with Guaita, and not signing a keeper in the last window is also reckless and once again Parish is playing a foolish and senseless game with squad depth. He is also annoying the manager into the bargain, who clearly isnt happy with our 2 keepers, and the fact that we only have 2 in the first place. Parish doesnt exactly have a strong history of keeping managers overly happy. Somehow Allardyce "retired from football" on his watch. Lo and behold Jules immediately gets injured and now we have 1 fit keeper. Whats your point about our signings not being good enough? That is once again Parish' fault as he has the ultimate say on who we buy, so you are making my point for me there mate. Holloway had to beg to get fired/be ALLOWED to walk which was a nonsense. As for Parish's attempts to move us forward and play on the front foot more, notice a pattern there? We tried it with Pardew to our ruination, and then Parish goes and makes the same mistake again with FDB, but on a spectacularly stupid scale, I must admit. The pattern is Parish making the same bonehead mistakes year after year after year.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

I am loath to speak for another poster, but where I read "insignificant" I read relatively trivial in the scheme of where this club is going. I don't agree with everything you have said - much opinion filtered through red mist? - but you make some good points about the way SP has managed the squad and the fact that we have lost 2 managers who - unheard of in the Prem - have walked rather than be fired. Because of the money and prestige of Prem management, I suspect most head coaches will tolerate just about anything to stay in post. So why did 2 middle-ranking managers leave? Something is not right. Then again - and I know a lot of posters are annoyed that this is raised each time SP is criticised - there is still the small fact that we are a club that has gone from c.10p in value that owned only its name to £150M and ownership of its whole capital infrastructure... in only 8 years. As a small unfashionable club, we are still expanding in terms of enriching the brand image and non-TV commercial revenue. We are rebuilding the ground in a sensible progressive way - stand by stand. We do not have the funds of Liverpool or Spurs to do the whole lot in one go. We will improve the training facilities and academy but, unlike most of our competition, we are having to attempt this within the M25 where land is very scarce and very expensive. At the playing end we give the appearance of an organisation still finding its way. At the corporate end recovery from near liquidation to a sound business unit is ongoing with the trajectory still upward. As anyone in commerce will tell you, we will see improvements in the former as the latter continues to grow. Trouble is, the pace is probably too slow for most football fans.

It is quite astounding the amount of yes-men proclaiming Parish's innocence in this season's debacle. If we get relegated, although part of the blame will fall on the players and management staff, the brunt of it will fall on SP's shoulders. Prior to the start of the season many neutral would have tipped us for 9th-13th placed finish. Instead what has followed is poor Summer recruitment, an embarrassing January transfer window, and to not to forget a lack of addressing academy issues whilst using the 'new stadium' as a smokescreen.

same things being repeated over and over again, not one person who complains about parish has come up with a alternative or put there millions into the club to buy him out.
