If that means you don't get your leg over that night, well, tough-titty. This isn't about signing contracts or any other hyperbolic nonsense you want to try and bleed into this issue. It's about equal treatment and respect of others. If you want to talk to someone, go and talk to them. If they tell you to do one, then do one. There's nothing wrong with any of that. But if you won't go away when asked or react negatively to being rebuffed, that's when a line is being crossed into harassment. For what it's worth, this is the world we live in, whether you like it or not. Edited by Ray in Houston (16 Nov 2017 9.09pm) As a younger man I've worked in pubs and nightclubs and mate you are in cloud cuckoo land. You literally criminalise countless people on your interpretation who aren't criminals. You certainly don't speak for women in general on this....perhaps for some feminists but not the general population. You know when I read stuff like your post there I'm reminded why so few women identify as feminists....what is it...just seven percent in the UK.

Men have got away with a lot over the years with attitudes to birds (see what I did there ). Thing is, I reckon a lot of older women see it as part of life as they've lived it, so take comments as flattery. The attitudes are steadfastly ingrained. This younger lot coming through don't want things to be like that any more.

Move with the times? What are you saying? That you want to criminise countless thousands of people? By the way that figure of seven percent is a reasonably modern one. Most men and most women just don't live in your activist world and don't want your interference on how they should live their lifes. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Nov 2017 1.44am)

I had couple of occasions in the early 90's where women brushed their breasts against my arm. One was an 'ex' and it was dark, in a concert, but it was persistent, and I gave it a swerve. "That has to be intentional" I thought, as she brushed her breasts against my arm me for the 28th time. I guess we'll never know, unless she gets famous, then I can go to the tabloids,...errr I mean police. The other was in the USA, in what they term a tltty-bar. The woman was topless and sitting next to me having a chat. She kept brushing her melons against my arm. But I guess that could also be termed as submitting a tender for business. Edited by Forest Hillbilly (17 Nov 2017 9.43am) Well, according to all the poe faced moralists these women are sex offenders.....not clumsy human beings making a pass. You should be teary eyed and in a Police station now writing out a statement. Most women have common sense..far more common sense than 'progressives'..and that's why we don't have half of all male teenagers on sexual harassment charges. Edited by Ray in Houston (16 Nov 2017 9.09pm) I think its reasonable to speak to people if you think they're 'giving off signals', or maybe even if they're not - there is nothing wrong with talking to someone. I think its really a context thing, if you think someone is giving you the 'signals' or your attracted to someone and your first move is to sidle over and grab their ass, breasts or similarly sexualised actions - then you're a dick who deserves everything that you get. What ever happened to just saying hi, or even a cheesy chat up line. What I don't get is how people can defend unreasonable behaviour. Saying hi, or something similar seems to be a reasonable way of finding out if someone you don't know is interested. Or even a bit of flirting before you start whipping your dick out, or trying to get to first base.

I think we have to draw a clear distinction between a rapist and a guy who just flirts with and maybe sleeps with a lot of women. Nothing wrong with sleeping around, we're all consenting adults, and as long as there is no real attempt to coerce or force someone into doing something. Guys, like women, come in all shapes, minds and sizes - Problem is maybe that male culture does kind of condone some fairly terrible behaviour - such as ideas that are based in humiliation for entertainment (Grab a granny, f**k a pig etc) - Plus we've all kind of seen and known of men who think the 'how do you get t'uddersfield' chat up line is 'funny'. I think the problem starts where people don't care whether people (men or women) appreciate it.
