If a new manager came in and lost the next four without scoring I would be inclined to give them a couple more games purely due to the increased standard of opposition for our next four games. However I would sack them if the form did not improve after say 6 or 7 games.

There you go - no swerve whatsoever.

Now answer this question - How many games would you have given Frank if he kept losing and not scoring?

Its OK moaning about it but seriously - how many games without scoring or picking up points would you have given him?

Bad performance yesterday and he should have gone. It wasn't though so i would have given him the Southampton game and if that was another 'nil' loss then 'yes' sack him after. Or if it were a 1-1 or 1-0 to us and a half decent performance I would have given him the next 6 games after to prove his worth.

You would have had Sir Alex sacked in 1989

If you follow anything and have any emotional let alone financial investment then you care. Part of caring is not just passive acceptance.

We appointed a manager who was seen as a devdecent appointment. We didn't back him. We sack him and replace him with one well past his sell by date who may well do a Sam, sell us and leave. The board chatter on about building a legacy and we are seemingly incapable of building a team let alone a legacy.

I am not a fan, I am a club supporter

The Board hired someone who said he would do certain things and then appears to have done quite different things. So who is in the wrong?

Anyway, let he who is without sin and all that. I start on the premise that the management do know what they are doing unless I have proof positive they are complete idiots. It seems I am unusual in that approach, which is strange given the relative success we have seen.

All I will say is that one doesn't sack one's manager after 4 games based on results alone.

I dunno. My son does it all the time on FIFA17

I do have SKY but I am afraid certain areas cannot get certain other areas. In the past we could add programs from London etc to our watching list but not anymore.
The only way I have listened to London radio in the past is on line but even that has failed lately for some reason.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I think it's all farcical and a bit of a shambles. However it's probably for the best it happens now. At the start of the season and a replacement comes in (as it appears to be happening) immediately. Chalk it up to experience. Admit it was a mistake and wrong and quickly move on.

For heaven's sake let's get behind the new manager without all the usual moaning. Lots of people complaining they don't want Roy. Who else could we realistically get. Can't imagine too many people want the job here to be honest. Get behind the guy or the alternative is a third by christmas.

Agree. Interesting your first comment could mean we do have a 3rd manager at Xmas. Swansea had 3 managers last season and stayed up. Pleased that supposedly DF isn't being given the reins as he like Pards would get a longer time if the wheels fall off again in Dec/Jan. The proper man for the job was Dyche in my opinion, knows the league and would of kept the wheels rollin, maybe not taking us to the "next level" whatever that is.

Alex Fergison did not fail to score and not pick up a point in his first 4 games.

So to be clear here - you are saying you would have given him 10 games without scoring or picking up a point and only then of sacked him?

I for one am a happy man today that FDB is gone. Big mistake in hiring him and he was unlucky with injuries to Zaha and RlC.

We all knew this was coming as soon as Freedman was appointed Sporting Director, he was a gonner regardless of wether we beat Swansea and Burnley, Parish got Freedman in for insurance because he realised his mistake.

We had a very weak squad on Saturday against Burnley and why did Miliovic sit on the bench the whole game? I watched him play 90 minutes against my country Ireland and he certainly wasn't injured.
It is not FDB's fault we have a player as bad as Lee in our squad but it is his fault for starting him in such an important game.

As for Lumeka coming on, Putting a chap as bad as that onto a football pitch tells me a manager is trying to prove a point to the board that this is what I have to work with. Lumeka will never be seen again in a Palace shirt.

None of us will ever truly know what happened behind the scenes but it must have been very bad.

I had my doubts as soon as I seen those first friendly games against Liverpool and West Brom and I had more doubts when I see that team sheet against Burnley.

Onwards and Upwards.

Only if we had got something from the Southampton game and with a half-decent performance. It would be the two or three games after Man U, Man City and Chelsea that would have been the deciders.
