Start closing down the mosques where hate preachers are welcome - Didsbury, Leicester, Woking and Bolton for starters.

Their beloved Caliphate, for the limited time it continues to exist. After that, ideally in the ground.

Dialogue usually succeeds, you are unlikely to change people's cultures with guns.

Not sure that it has any legal basis though does it?

The people who have been murdering are dead. That's not going to stop the next lot from trying if they have been in the same conditions, is it?

You've got to stop people who are starting to carry out these things, and maximum force should be deployed where necessary. But you've also got to reduce the likelihood that people do this at all. You need to understand how people become marginlised for that to happen.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I think both are required as necessary you have to defeat those who'd take up arms and the call that spawns them. We also need law enforcement to deal with the problems here. You can't have discourse with everyone and you can't just shoot everyone either.

And it should come from within their own communities...they are the ones who can start to stop this.

Not sure I care. Pass a law.

For a start, you can do it defacto by stripping them of citizenship once they leave for their beheading holidays.

Depends what you mean by radical Islam. The shia radicals we were fighting in Basra and Baghdad are also now the shia militias fighting against IS in Iraq and Syria backed by the US and UK.

Some kind of settlement with Islamist movements is possible, even if its negotiating their surrender
