At the beginning of last season I posted a warning on here about how good teams become toxic. It works like this.

The fans get ideas above beyond the teams capabilites
A couple of signing don't perform
You get a few injuries
You go on a bad run
You sack a manager
Replace him with a worse manager
The team become toxic and falls apart.

We were never thrashed under Pardew but always advocated that we should check who is available before sacking him.

That's a awful performance against Watford, Arsenal, Swansea, Bolton and now West Ham.

That's on the back of a 3-3 away draw, a 3-0 win and then narrow defeats to Man U and Chelsea.

We have certainly regressed and I can't see that we have the manager, players, or funds to turn this around.

I'm afraid "that was the worst half I've ever seen us play" is becoming a tired refrain. Every time I think we can't get worse, we do. It used to be that bad performances were followed by a bollocking, training, a determination to improve and some kind of attempt to get a result. But once we let the first goal in that just looked as if they were all on the beach already.

Benteke was particularly useless and currently looks worse than Campbell. At least Campbell does some work.

At last I've come round to that way of thinking.

I would swap this team for our promotion team any day!

In a heartbeat. That team was poor as well at times but had grit, fight and believe. This lot has lazy, sulky overrated arseholes.

Benteke - sell him or swap him. Another overrated player in a game full off them.

Townsend - overrated, lazy and bit crap.

Punch - get rid. Useless.

Cabaye - crap and has been since coming here.

Hennessey - back up keeper at best and that is me being kind.

Deleney - done (sad but true)

Ward - Left back isn't for him.

Kelly - crap

Wolferine - West Ham reject and can see why.

Ledley - crap overall. Average at his best.

Bruce Lee - crap.

Could go on but no point. Going down and clear out...start again.

Aw well. If do stay up clear out and start again...oh well.

It is LOL though in a way. Palace and the self destruct button is always there in the background isn't it??

Utter bollocks. AP has destroyed this team more than anyone could of thought.

The man was a control freak who did his best to rid the club of any players who might possibly of been more popular than him.

Two poor teams, Swansea and now West Ham, have done the double on us. Palace are now the team everyone looks forward to playing/beat.

Need to get a decent keeper in!!! Hennesey is beyond a joke. Slow, indecisive, doesn't talk... the list of frailties is endless. At the moment his only strength is height, he qualifies as a goal post.

Hardly ever outplayed until he started to really put his mark on the team.

The first 5 months were Pulis's team.

Then the nose dive started about Xmas last year and it wasn't getting better - it was getting worse.

There was this idea we were fluent and expansive - no we had Zaha and Bolasie who were pulling teams apart. Neither of whom were signed by Pardew. Sako and Townsend were though.......

As I said you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter. it is still a turd.

You can blame who you like but our dream of being a competitive PL team is coming to an end :-(
We don't have the belief anymore and I'm not just talking about the players.

Got to say as posistive as i've tried to remain it's all set up to be a horrible season. We'll go down in place of a Hull side ruled out from the start and Brighton will go up. I hope Sam can turn it around I was so confident he could but now we're seeing just how bad Pardew left us, I'm not sure even Allardyce can turn this around

With big Sam not only are the points not coming but the goal difference is getting very quickly eroded, but don't worry he will keep us up just like Sunderland. Maybe not Sunderland are professional at fighting relegation.

Some positives are that Remy looks like he'll be well up for this if he can stay fit and Schlupp and Lee both came on looking like they had fight in them. In fact, Lee must be wondering what he has to do to get a start with Townsend being so bad.

Although we didn't look threatening I didn't think we looked quite as nervous at the back. The first goal WH lost his head and the second was, let's face it, a blinding finish. The third was a result of us having to push on for a goal. Aside from that they had very few chances. It was a case of 3 in 3, pretty much.

I seriously need that smile Big Sam was talking about before his first game.
