What is not right then?

Will 6 wins in 39 league games do you for starters???

Thought we played well today, not that Chelsea looked that good. Problem being all the other defeats in 2016 make this type of game less enjoyable as we need points badly. So much better to watch when there is no pressure losing against the tops sides. Arsenal will be the same if we don't get points against Watford :-(

If this game had been preceded by even an average run, most would have been pretty pleased today. That was a hard-working display against a side who can defend extraordinarily well and in numbers. It was inconceivable that they wouldn't get at least one and we could have had at least one in the first half ourselves.

With Arsenal coming up, the intervening Watford game has become massive, as will be the Swansea game. If we carry on playing the way we did today we must surely be able to get something from those two, with Arsenal most likely being another heroic failure?

As for Pardew's future, who knows? If we lose against either or both Watford and Swansea, and/or find ourselves in the bottom three at close of play on 3 January, would Parish try to front it out with the other investors on the basis of the transfer window? I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Because we didn't act earlier we're in a bit of a cleft stick now.

No. That's impossible. We lose to poor sides all the time. They're all even worse when they play us and still win. If by some miracle we get a draw or a win, they're absolute sh*te. Didn't you know that?

Actually we are exactly where we deserve to be, because we are loosing too many games.'the table never lies'.

..I'm pointing out our performances, not our results of which you are completely right, but we are not far away from picking up results in my view, starting against Watford.

One of our problems when playing at home is that we are so slow and ponderous when going forward. The number of times we play the square ball and then pass back and then start again. The opposition defence has all the time in the world to sit back, position themselves and wait for what we eventually throw at them.

After a reasonable first half, we were awful in the 2nd half and never stretched the Chelsea defence.

We will get nothing from Watford. They are going far better than us.... To be honest so is nearly ever other team in the Premiership.

For the record, I cannot agree with your pessimistic view of things. Wake me up in February..........

Difficult to stretch a defence that has 10 players within 30 yards of their own goal. That was pretty much their, understandable, plan for the second half, sit deep and hit on the break.

Agreed. It's all too predictable.

Just got back home. Nobody played badly and nobody was brilliant? 6 out of 10s for most of the team. Pardew can't get any more out of them and he should've been fired by now.

We did undo their defence once but the chance went begging due to Punch's woeful effort from right in front of goal.

I thought we were poor today. Negative, slow, predictable.

Can't hold on to the ball, lose out on 50/50s, poor crosses. Ward was shocking. Puncheon kept giving the ball away. Benteke couldnt trap the ball. Townsend free kick at the end - dreadful.

The crowd desperately wanted something to cheer about but we got nothing. Feeling very down.

I really do admire your optimism and I really really wish I could agree, because I hate being do pessimistic, but we've been saying for most of the season that we don't look far away from picking up points and we just don't. Hope you're eright against watford.
