It could be and I hope it just a ruse to get Liverpool to be realistic in there pricing of Christian Benteke Another article care of the advertiser, an opinion piece but I actually agree with it. Berahino clearly has time keeping problems in terms of turning up for training, and why should we spend £20m plus on importing a lot of problems? Clubs like Swansea have done well picking up strikers like Bony who hadnt previously played in the PL, but who did pretty well. Strikers like Slimani, Babacar or Haller have all been rumoured to be linked to Palace, and whiost none of these has a PL track record, they wouldn't bring personal baggage with them either.

Why do people always say "they dont want to come to the Palace?" Neither did Townsend or Cabaye! We need to get rid of the championship club mentality, big transfers can happen! Be positive!!!

Jeremy peace is as tougher negotiator than any chairman in the prem. No he's not a negotiator negotiates. He starts the window stating Berahino goes nowhere unless we get £20m for him. At least one club says ok, you win, here's your £20m which he then flatly turns down. That's not a negotiation, that's an idiot who's bluff has been called and only had one option to save face. That's 4 maybe 5 transfer windows he's done the same - if he was chairman of a Plc he'd not still be in his job. Move on Palace there are better players out there.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

WBA have seen 2 clubs interested and maybe they are just hoping to drive up the offers - such is negotiation and all that. At the end of the day, Berahino doesn't want to stay and maybe WBA know only too well that they will let him go at some stage.

Good points. Swings and roundabouts. None have proved themselves in the EPL whilst Berahino does have experience. Probabilities suggest that he would be a better choice, however discipline is also important. Then again if you haven't played in the EPL you may get a nasty shock in how clubs, players media, fans etc. interact. Could easily throw your rattles out of the pram. In relation to Berahino if he knuckles down and plays to his potential would be a good addition, allied with another major proven striker arriving. If these 2 happen and the squad stays together think we will be well set. Edited by Booted Eagle (23 Jul 2016 10.08am)

The sort of figures bid are fair taking into account his contract situation and the reservations about his alleged behaviour/temperament. These may of course be a complete fabrication.I think higher figures will frighten off buyers and they will move on and find other targets. I think it is equally likely that unless Berahino is allowed to move he will on his agents advice stay the year till end of contract, sign a pre-contract agreement in Jan and leave on a free and get a massive signing on bonus. Peace may regret not selling him.

Very much doubt we will see Slimani,Babacar or Haller wearing the shirt.More likely to get in a 'Loan' player.
