Oh dear, now a report that Palace are 'cooling their interest.' Its all a game of musical chairs... Another report thst Palace are pulling out of getting Remy in. This surely must mean (please!) that another deal (Slimani?) is getting done?

Oddly, as these stories broke the bookies reinstalled us as favourites to get him with Newcastle dropping behind again.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

To be honest, I'm not that surprised. If the two options are Adebayor and Remy, it's not hard to understand why Adebayor would be prioritised (particularly if we've now had a look at him and feel he is in good shape and ready to roll, match fitness aside.) With Remy, there's the issue of negotiating with his present club which obviously presents a problem you don't have with Adebayor. Furthermore, Adebayor may have been out of the game for a while but it's not like Remy has been playing weekly and is in full swing. Furthermore, Adebayor's enthusiasm for the game is probably, right now, ahead of Remy's (if his showing on Sunday is anything to go by.) Plus, it may well be that Pardew simply feels Adebayor's skill set is better suited to us than Remy's. I think this is somewhat true; the former is more likely to make something out of nothing where Remy is more reliant on service. The only thing I would add is that if these reports are right, you have to think we have something or someone lined up.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

The only thing I would add is that if these reports are right, you have to think we have something or someone lined up. What sort of logic is that? Adebayor is only ready to go because he's been sat on his arse doing nothing for months on end. Surely that points towards his enthusiasm for the game VS Remy's desire to play a part in the Euros and will be in fuller swing by training/playing with elite players. It's not even close. The 'issue' of liaising with Remy's club/agent is like saying 'er lets not bother cos it's just more work'. There are a few days to get the deal done, both clubs know the deadline and will work to do the deal if it is indeed on the table. That's their job. Gamestyle? Possibly Adebayor could hold the ball up better. But we have strikers that can do that already, it's finding the net we need to solve. That said I'd take Adebayor if it was a choice of him or no-one (or Bendtner, which is [practically the same thing)

Probably because the newspaper is owned by the same company? So my point stands, it's all bulls*** if the same newspaper is writing two different stories with regards to where he's going to go.

With Alexadre Pato flying into Heathrow tonight to complete a 6 month loan move, a deal does look possible for Remy very soon.
