Wordage, schmurdage. I am a tad cynical that the Palestinian people (not Hamas) are going to get anything out of this, except more misery. It’s a first step though and every journey has to have one. The first sign that international pressure and diplomacy might be effective.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

If Netanyahu doesn't clear Gaza then then the whole point of what he's done fails. Personally I believe Mossad knew that the October 7th attack was coming and what we are seeing fits in with the plan for a greater Israel. Netanyahu's whole career and legacy rests on being the guy to defeat the Palestinians. If the Palestinians remain in Gaza he's failed. The whole point is for them to be evacuated. If he has to find an excuse to machine gun them into the Sinai then he'll probably do it. What's his motivation to stop? If he stops his enemies will still be baying for his blood. He has nothing to lose. Politically America is owned by Jewish financiers, who....while they hate Netanyahu will never abandon Israel when push comes to shove. So while they won't partake in an offensive war by a right wing Israeli government that they couldn't show massive self interest for....they would go to war for Israel if it were ever invaded. It looks like Netanyahu is going to call in all those American chips and give Biden the two fingers. America will scream and shout but they have only just passed Israel's military aid package so it's largely performative. Essentially Israel is behaving like a terrorist state that is ethnically cleansing the Palestinians. Sometimes slowly and sometimes quickly. The harsh reality is that it looks like no one is going to stop them. Would the Americans use the CIA to try to 'remove' Netanyahu? Unlikely, as the CIA itself would have Israeli moles but I bet it's been talked about...just as they probably have about Trump. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 May 2024 4.31am)

Why do so many people and the BBC believe Hamas' lies etc Neither side in a war tells the truth all the time I would have much more trust in a Guardian op ed written by a Muslim who worked for MSNBC and said "During a sermon delivered in 2009,[61] quoting a verse of the Quran, Hasan used the terms "cattle" and "people of no intelligence" to describe non-believers. In another sermon, he used the term "animals" to describe non-Muslims" Your anti semitism is happily unfettered

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Edited by HKOwen (03 May 2024 11.17am) Well the article provides numerous examples of Israel's many lies which haven been given credibility across the media (and indeed by many on here). What would be the equivalent list for Hamas' lies believed by the BBC/wider media?

What would be the equivalent list for Hamas' lies believed by the BBC/wider media? You believe everything in the article as a starting point, I don't. I don't have a list, it's not lies top trumps. You are prepared to accept unproven numbers as long as they come from Hamas Edited by HKOwen (03 May 2024 12.31pm)

Did the BBC report that was caused by the IDF? Any other examples? Regardless of the source of the article, or the author, there are a number of examples provided that are objectively lies told by the IDF that have been given credibility by the British media - you're welcome to use a partisan source to produce a similar list for Hamas, if it helps.
