What a strange time for managerial appointments. Well with all those other teams I'm surprised I havn't seen Villas-Boas' name mentioned, as he's currently out of work. A manager like that has "Everton" written all over him.

The intrigue escalates. Everton appointing Rafa would bode well for us with Favre but we were "closing in" on Nuno, prior to him being an "imminent appointment" at Everton, prior to Fonseca "agreeing terms" with Spurs, prior to Gattuso being "set to join". And Rafa was supposedly being announced by a Everton at the start of this week. Honestly, the managerial saga in England is farcical this summer and so I’d strongly suggest that until it’s official, nothing has been completed. Edited by Mstrobez (18 Jun 2021 11.35am)

Whilst I admire SP's patience in finding the right candidate and not being taken advantage of, our need is far greater than that of Everton and Spurs who already have strong squads in place for next season. We really need someone in quick or are going to have to start signing and renewing players who the new manager may not want. Favre would be a good, experienced option but, to be honest, I'd take almost anyone at this moment in time just to get the wheels in motion.

Edited by Mstrobez (18 Jun 2021 11.35am) only if you fall for all the bollix printed in the media every time a name is associated with a club. What's wrong with clubs taking their time to find the right appointment? Everton, Palace and Spurs all have their own unique needs - we all know what a wrong managerial appointment looks like. The 'saga' you speak of shows diligence rather than falling for the first fancy name that comes in for interview.

Wonder what Roy Hodgson is doing these days.Has a good record of keeping sides up!

Definitely more urgent for us with so many players out of contract in a couple of weeks and hopefully significant comings and goings. This being Palace we need all the time available to get even one or two 'over the line' before deadline day, a manager in place is surely only the first step.
