Well Chelsea are giving the kids a run out.
Ok so they better than ours but on a pro rata sort of the club you are at level some must be able to at least match what we have.
With the adage that they have something to prove and we have nothing to lose over a few games.
The feeling might be that us as supporters might get on their cases for bad play but I just want to see effort and actually trying.
Look how many chances the first teamers are getting and still not delivering.
Come on roy take a chance.

Roy isn't in the business of getting us relegated, well not intentionally anyway.

If he is offered a new contract I genuinely have concerns at what is going on at our club... What does SP think he is protecting exactly by offering him a new deal?

Does he think that somebody will come in and offer £25m for him??
The guy is a spent force and will never return to the form of a few years ago.. No manager with any sense would pay over £10m for him.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I suspect this view is shared by the vast majority of our supporters who will have viewed with incredulity reports of an extended contract.

I watched Benteke in the pre-match kickabout in our last home game when players shoot into those practice goals. Benteke under no pressure put many shots over and wide and this just summed up what he has become. Benteke, Wickham and Sorloth on our books- it will all come right in the end!!

I foolishly believed this would be the season he turned it around. Sadly he looks even more ponderous in front of goal than last season. Just stop playing him. It is becoming embarrassing for him and for us. We may as well just stick Schlupp up front when Ayew tires. He is quicker, has a better shot and actually scores occasionally. Even Camarasa can play the lone striker role if necessary.

Sorry Tekkers but I think you may have lost one of your last remaining supporters

That makes 2 of us. I have defended him, made excuses and prayed for him to come good but now I have just washed my hands of him. He is finished and I agree that it would make more sense to try Schlupp up there late in games as he is strong and decent in the air.

And Schlupp has played as a striker before.I think he was signed as a striker by Brentford on loan from Leicester and I believe he has played for Leicester up front. Can’t do any worse than Benteke!

It's very hard not to disagree that CB is finished. But as one last desperate effort to get something out of him would it make sense to loan him out, even if we had to keep paying his wages? Players go out on loan to get game time, to stay (or get) fit, to regain confidence, etc. If he could start banging in goals for Colchester, or Wimbledon AFC, or whoever, his career might yet get back on track. (Yes, I know, pigs might fly.)

In the meantime, I don't think I want to see him score for us. That understated triumphalism as he waits for the congratulations irritates me intensely. Also, of course, the odd goal would probably convince the authorities that everything is fine after all.

Totally agree. Like many on hear I have lived in hope that his form would improve. I also have watched him in warm ups and sadly I am of the opinion that he could not hit a cows arse with a banjo!

Whoops, just noticed I got my negatives mixed up. Meant to say it's hard to disagree with the suggestion that CB is finished.
